If you are looking for an introductory kayak trip that is slower paced,
with plenty of time for kicking back and enjoying a day off,
then join us on our ½ day Lake Mead trip.
Lake Mead is one of America's most popular recreation areas, with a
12-month season that attracts more than 9 million visitors each year
for swimming, boating, skiing, and fishing.
Your tour guide will instruct you on
basic paddling techniques, and
familiarize you with your kayak.
Once in your boat, you will head out
into the crystal waters of the largest
man made lake in the United States.
As you paddle out toward Boulder
Islands and the Sentinel, you will
encounter the wreckage of boats that
have sunk long ago. With recent low
water levels, these wooden skeletons
are exposed and you can explore the
islands to find several old boat
graveyards. Your guide will be
knowledgeable in the history of the
area, and can explain the cement structure
you will see on the West side of the
Boulder Islands.
If the weather is nice and you feel the
urge, take time to swim in the green
waters. Summer water temps range
around 85F degrees, and the water
stays nice even into late fall. Trout,.
Grab a snorkel and mask and check out
what lies beneath the surface. You may
even find some sea shells!
After a nice picnic style lunch on the
beach, you will pack upthe gear and
paddle back toward the marina, passing
several large yachts and houseboats
