From the desert floor to the mountains edge this tour incorporates all various
landscapes that Las Vegas has to offer. You'll enjoy a leisurely drive to the
Red Rock Canyon and learn about desert plants and wildlife that inhabit the
area. While completing the 13 mile scenic loop keep your eyes and camera's
ready as most days you'll view wild burrows. After lunch we'll start to climb
to Mt. Charleston, which stands about 8500 feet above sea level and 6000 feet
above the City of Las Vegas, making it the 3rd highest mountain peak in
Nevada. As you climb to the mountain's top you'll leave the desert landscape
and its Joshua Trees behind for an Alpine forest setting full of Cedar trees
& Bristlecone Pines. You may see wild burrows, horses and various birds
including our National icon, the bald eagle. We'll even stop at the place that
was used by many locals in the 40's as they watched the Nuclear bomb tests.
