There were 5 of us ladies, first trip to Chicago, our stay at the River Hotel was awesome! We had very comfortable rooms, the people at the front desk were great and we loved the location. We enjoyed everything about our stay there. The Bella Bacino restaurant was also great.

Really liked this hotel. It was in a great location, prices was better than other hotels in the area, and tons of cool stuff within walking distance. The negitives were that the window view was right into another building and the room was a bit smaller than expected.

Best deal in downtown Chicago. I stayed for one night and just needed a bed and a shower after coming back from a long walk around the city. This hotel is just right. Clean, nice staff, easy check in/out (if you want, you can use the automated check in/out). You cross the street and the river walk is right there. Parking was also easy, just around 300 feet away. The hotel was booked and I had arrived early. I was told that my room would not be available until at least 3 pm. The hotel cletk was not very accommodating. I checked my bag and returned at noon, needing to change clothes for the theater. The MOST accommodating, engaging young woman guest services rep took me to the Club level and directed me to a convenient place to change. Nice Club level, I might add. I returned at about 5 pm to check in. Much to my surprise, I was assigned a very lovely room overlooking the river. I made note that there was filtered water on the floor, a microwave and refrigerator, free internet access, a very roomy layout - most comfortable for my next business trip. The bed was a bit hard compared to the fluffy, plush beds of the Westin and Sheraton, but it was clean and still very comfortable. The in room coffee was just OK, but given that many hotels in downtown Chicago do not offer in room coffee except upon request, a definite plus. I will certainly return. Oh, and the little restaurtant has a very interesting menu, too!
