It's low cost, so keep your expectations in line with that. Older facility, could use some updating. No elevator to 2nd floor. Bathroom VERY dark, low wattage bulbs in place. Mentioned it to the desk, they chuckled, and responded it wasn't the first time they heard that. Inroom wireless internet response time is very poor. Marginal breakfast offering. Again, don't expect a lot, and you won't be paying a lot.

08/02/2011All in all a pleasant stay. had a non-smoking room but heavy smoke odor in hall. would have liked a microwave but not really necessary.

I needed a place to stay that was close to work as I live in Orange County. The historic Mayfair was a great find! It's close to downtown LA...the ammenities are simple and clean and the staff is very friendly.

""SUPERIOR ROOM 2 DOUBLE BEDS CITY LIGHT VIEW STANDARD BATHROOM GREAT DISCOUNTS RATE INCLUDES BREAKFAST TAXES AND SERVICE CHARGES NOT INCLUDED"" is what exactly show on my reservation confirmation under the room description section, but Mayfair manager, XXX, told me that ""this is room description only, it did not mean breakfast is included"" - What kind of person she is! Then I ask for cancelation of my reservation as it was made based on fake information, then I was told, ""Yes, you can. But I have to charge you the full amount"". - What kind of hotel this is!
