We booked this hotel based on an article in the Midwest Living Magazine as a destination hotel. We were not disappointed. This is a lovely restored historic hotel. All the modern conveniences and amenities – and then some! We had only planned to stay one night and move on, but enjoyed the room so much that we changed our plans and stayed another night! Some of the room amenities include a flat screen TV, sumptuous bedding, walk-in shower with a glass door and a separate work desk and chair and chair and ottoman. The room is very nicely decorated and was extremely comfortable. The pictures on the website accurately reflect the rooms. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the on-site restaurant has excellent food. The downtown location offers lots of options for shopping and restaurants just steps away. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the area. Thank you Hotel Julien!

We had our daughters rehearsel dinner, ceremony and reception and Hotel Julien and cannot say enough good things about this place. Top of the line service from dining, spa services and as far as the food goes, scrumptious and served quickly. The staff at the reception were so attentive and went out of their way to make sure everyone had all they needed. The bartenders were great and the drinks generous and served quickly. We stayed in the premier suite, so there would be a general area for meeting, snacking and hanging out between photos, etc. Full kitchen and tons of room.Very clean with luxurious linens and comfortable bed. The balcony is so beautiful, along with the staircase, and of course the Grand Ballroom speaks for itself.i have had 3 daughters gets married and this experience was by far the best. The Hotel Julien is the one stop wedding venue for rehearsel, right down to breakfast the day after. My husband and I will for sure be returning to spend a relaxing evening and overnite stay at the Hotel Julien in Dubuque, Iowa.
