I checked in around midnight, and the front desk staff was very friendly. When I checked out at 8am two days later, the man that checked me in came up to tell me goodbye. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but they have a "snack bar" with chips, cereal, fruit, and drinks available for purchase.

Room was great, staff was friendly and helpful.
04/12/2011The room was clean and in execellant condition but a bit small. the view from our room was not the greatest but this was a great value for the cost.

A very comforting experience
02/07/2011I was very comfortable at the candlewood suites, the staff was amazing, giving (accurate) directions,was taking subway to coney island and the directions were way better than the ones ...
I was very comfortable at The Candlewood Suites, the staff was amazing, giving (accurate) directions,was taking subway to Coney Island and the directions were way better than the ones I got from the subway personal, and the little store in lobby was pretty much honor system and free coffee, I would and will stay at the CS again, felt comfortable and safe. Thanx

I shopped and shopped looking for a reasonably priced hotel in NYC that wasn't just a room in an old hotel with a shared bathroom. Candlewood was very nice, fairly new inside I would guess, and the staff was very friendly. We had no issues during our stay. The room was small but there were only 2 of us. It did have a fridge and microwave . The only thing was we ended up hardly using our 7 day subway pass nearly as much as we usually do when we stay at other hotels. We weren't all that far from a station but it was a couple of blocks and it wasn't worth taking the subway sometimes so we ended up walking more than usual, which wasn't bad, just mentioning it. We were close to Times Square so we always walked there and it was a 5-10 minute walk each time we did that. We were also close enough to walk to the NJ transit bus station to go to EWR for our flight back.

enjoyed the hotel very much, clean and the people were very friendly, and we had early check in. The only thing is there was construction down the street as there is all over NYC and walking under the tarped sidewalks was a little creepy, but nothing to do with the hotel. Only slight complaint is the elevator, need more than 2.
