What I liked about the Trump; the smell of the lobby is always great; the rooms were large; the bathrooms were great; Marcus, the bartender, was a class-act and great guy; it was across the street from Nordstrom and the Fashion Show Mall. What I didn't like about the Trump; the 12am, 1am, 430am, 630 am trains "choo chooing" and waking me up EVERY night (not an over exaggeration). Seriously, I couldn't believe something "high end" had actual train noise recurring nighly. If you book, specifically request to NOT be on the side of the train tracks (if that's possible). I really couldn't believe it. I was on the 18th floor, too!

We upgraded to a suite for a reasonable amount ($50 per night) and it has to be said the space was lovely. It's also nice to stay in a hotel that is not a casino. The bathroom was almost the size of our bedroom at home. However, we arrived back at the hotel after our first day out at about 5:30pm and the room had not been cleaned. I called the front desk and asked why and they told me I had not put on the "House Keeping" button to get service. (Do Not Disturb button was completely off.) I asked if they could tidy the room up while we were away that evening, they said yes and to just set the button. When we arrived home at 11:30 that night the room was still not cleaned. I called again and they apologized and said they could send someone up, but at that point we were just ready to sleep. The rooms are lovely, but I feel that the service of a 5 star hotel should be more accommodating. We also paid for a strip view and received the complete far end of the strip, looking towards the Stratosphere.

We tried the Trump for a couple of resons. The first is that it had good reviews. The second is because it is a five star hotel for a decent price on the strip in Las Vegas. We took a gamble (no pun intended) and booked a room at the Trump. We got a studio and when whe got there decided to upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite. This was the best decision we could have made. The stuio is great but the 1 bedroom was awesome. The view was fantastic! We had a view looking down the strip from our bedroom and from the Jacuzzi. The hotel does not have a casino but that is a plus to us. It keeps the rift-raft out and you do not have to worry about the smoke. It seems like a great place to take your family. We loved it so much on our vacation in September that we booked it again for April. We only had one minor problem at the hotel and it was resolved quickly by the staff that was more than willing to help us with our problem. Because of thier great attention to detail, and there great cusomer service, we will be looking forward to staying at the Trump for many years to come. PS The corn flake crusted Waffles at the resaurant is the best!!!!
