The walls are very thin. We were kept up from 2:30 to 3:45 in the morning by the people next door. There were at least four different people talking very loudly. We could hear every word. The place is starting to look old and shabby. It looks like they are doing some improvements so hopefully it will get better.

La Quinta Inn was conveniently located near the San Jose Airport in a decent neighborhood, and it was not overly expensive. It was beginning to look a little frayed at the edges though, and in fact there is some renovation going on, which meant there was construction noise during the daytime. They also allow pets in the rooms, and I had barking dogs on both sides of me. The room smelled slightly of pet odor, and the carpet near the doorway was stained. However, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the breakfast was pretty good, and there is a business center off the lobby. That part of the hotel appears to have been recently remodeled.

The hotel is under mass renovations, which made for a fairly unpleasant surrounding, and the hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. Although the hotel itself wasn't exceptional, the staff was pleasant and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was fine. I am sure that once the renovations are complete, it will be a great experience.
