The Hilton Garden Inn stands up to the overall Hilton image. This hotel was overall small but great. There are only 2 elevators for 24 floors but they had a staircase so since we were only on the 4th floor we would use the stairs in the morning. At night the front sliding doors are locked and patrolled with room keys which I thought was great. We received vouchers for free breakfast for our whole stay which was great. Even though I was super tired in the morning, the waitress gave me a to go box so I could bring my breakfast to my room and enjoy. The waitresses at the restaurant inside the hotel were wonderful. The room was overall small. We had a king bed and barely any walking room but the room was overall clean. The bathroom was clean and house keeping came everyday to replace towels and clean the room. The area around the hotel may look sketchy at night but since the hotel was so close to 6th ave it was not difficult to catch a cab or subway. Hotel is near everything and overall is in a good location if you want to be near attractions yet not in the middle of it. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

We were very content with this hotel. Although it's not in a prime tourist neighborhood, we were close enough to walk to just about everywhere we wanted to go (we do walk ALOT) - incl MSG- very close, Time Square, 5th Avenue,The West Village (that's a big plus - this is downtown enough to be able to walk in about 15-20 minutes) & even Central Park. The hotel is simple but clean, up to date and attractive furnishings, and the few extras like microwave and fridge really were a bonus. Beds comfortable. We were on top floor and I loved the mostly rooftop view - we could even see the Hudson in the distance. You can even open the window a bit for fresh (?) air... Staff pleasant but not as knowledgeable as a real concierge. Shower mediocre. Neighborhood decent-not trendy or attractive but acceptable by our standards. Overall, it was a good stay and a good hotel - met our needs & We were very happy.

stumbled upon an online sale that got us a really great room for super cheap. Swanky, we enjoyed it. The staff was helpful - they let us store our bags a couple of times for free, no problem. We really appreciated that. Complimentary cookies are always a perk. Thanks.

We missed the hotel entrance the first time driving down 28th street. This is the Flower District of Manhatten, and the hotel is set in the middle of this commercial district, so the street is very busy and chaotic. (some might say vibrant and energetic). Parking is an issue, but Robinson the Bellman helped us squeeze our Suburban into the last remaining on-street spot. Expect to pay $35/day (discounted price) to park a few blocks away in a garage if you drive. There are subway stops handy about a block or two away, when we caught a taxi, the bellman was able to summon one in less than a minute each time. Inside, the hotel is nice; the lobby is small, clean, and of recent vintage. The rooms are accessed via two elevators which apparently also function as the staff elevators. The rooms are large by New York standards, small by anyone else's standards. They are comfortable, modern, clean, and quiet. Not plush, but not spartan. Bathrooms are modern and function well. Beds are very nice; we slept well. No bedbugs. We've stayed in a half dozen or so NY hotels; this one is the best for providing what we need a hotel for: a quiet, clean, comfortable, centrally located place to sleep and stay, without spending $100's on fru-fru.
