The hotel itself was fantastic- gorgeous infinity pools, friendly staff and hip art deco decor. We stayed in one of the suites which had a full kitchen and eating area. The restaurant, La Perla, was very good. My only issue with our stay was that the street is completely Americanized (and expensive); the "authentic" puerto rican restaurant across the street was charging $30 for a mofongo. Wendy's, Burget King and even Chili's were within a couple of blocks. Some people like chain restaurants which is fine, but we tended to head a few blocks off the beaten path to attempt a more authentic experience.

The hotel was very nice and the people were friendly. The pool and beach areas were beautiful and very comfortable with a lot of open air lounging areas. The food at the hotel was just ok and also priced pretty expensively. The room was comfortable and nicely appointed (suite with large bathroom and nice kitchenette), but was facing the street and got pretty loud at night.

Very pleased with this hotel upon my arrival the staff was very nice and helpful. Watch out for the daily fees of @*.00 this information wasnt given to me before my arrival other than that very nice. Food was bland not impressed very expensive have to go to where the locals play to get real Puerto Rican food I would return but would not stay at LaConcha only because of the extra fees and bland food. The hotel lost power twice okay really other than all that very nice hotel.

Great 20th anniversary vacation! Our room had the most wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean from Condado Beach in San Juan, while our room was spacious and comfortable with one of the best beds I have ever slept on. The hotel atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. The Casino was nice, but a little small. One of the best things about the LaConcha Hotel was the location within short walking distance to twenty or more restaurants, many with native foods. Try the mofongo! Site seeing in Old San Juan was easily done on the cheap using the city buses (its about 2.5 miles to Old San Juan), and the tour to the only tropical rain forest owned by the United States is a must see! There were a few concerns. The music in and around the pool area got very loud late at night (after 11PM), but our room faced away from that area so we didn't have a problem. Also the city buses really dont' run on time. But the biggest concern was that there was no place within the hotel to get a meal (any time of day) for less than $25 a person, and sometimes much, much more. So relax and enjoy the twenty or more nearby restaurants out on the street. My wife and I definitely recommend the LaConcha for anyone!
