We stayed for the weekend to see the sites downtown. Valet parking cost close to $20/day but was worth it for the convenience. We were told refridgerators we available by request. People said the street view rooms were a bit noisy but I wished we would have gotten one either way. Overall the hotel was very quiet. You may have someone come and check the honor bar everyday which was a surprise. Overall I'd definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone who wants to be close to most attractions in Atlanta.

Downtown Atlanta? Big city? I was worried about selecting a hotel in a place I didn't know much about. But I found the Ellis Hotel while doing my research and I'm glad I did. It's not the cheapest hotel you can find, but it was a safe and secure haven for us. It was impeccably clean. It was perfectly centralized to everything we had to do, with plenty of good food, entertainment, and security all around. I had purchased a King Size bed that was as comfortable as any. The staff was extremely friendly and struggled to serve us in every way. But there were a couple of items that made the Ellis Hotel a tiny notch below perfect. It is a city hotel and situated on a block. I drove by it several times before figuring out how to gain access. There is no car access. You will need to find the parking deck associated with the hotel or use the valet service that is available at the main entrance (which I did). And a second item that is very small. Compared to today's newer hotels, the rooms were a bit smaller. They were beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, but a bit smaller than some of the newer hotel rooms that are being built along our highways today. But overall, the Ellis Hotel provided me and my two sons with a great stay. I'm glad I found them and will return if I find myself travelling that way again.

I'm sad to let people know of this hidden gem in Atlanta, but feel it is my obligation to do so. The Ellis Hotel, a recently renovated "boutique" hotel in downtown Atlanta, is a true joy. The rooms are even quiet during the madness of DragonCon! The results of the renovation include marble bathrooms (floor to ceiling marble tiles) which stay cool in Atlanta's heat; a gorgeous restaurant; and an adequate air conditioning system. The reservations for the balcony overlooking the street are even maintained during the busiest parades; if you reserve it, it's yours. While I was there, grown men were spending five minutes praising the staff at the front desk during a very busy morning checkout. Can't recommend this hotel more.
