This room was a gift to us so we did not bring any credit cards execpt to pay the 20 buck that was staited on conformaition e-mail and the counter staff was not helpfull at all. We had cash in hand but they did not want that. it took over and hour of going back and fourth of the counter staff telling me they did not have time for me which the room was allready paid for. I would not reconmend this hotel to anybody. the service was very poor and we were treaded as a problem and not a customer.

The feel of the hotel was pretty nice. They had a good concept but the hallways were dirty and smelled like cheese. The walls are very VERY thin. And the shower didn't make sense because it got water all over the floor.Â

On a Thursday night I figured I was safe staying at a trendy place in the Gaslight district. I was wrong. The front desk took ~30 minutes to check me in (I was the only one there). After 15 minutes of small talk, I just stood around while the clerk typed. I was in SD on business so I needed a good nights rest. I tried to go to sleep around 11pm for a 7am client meeting. I really thought the music from club 207 (the club in the base of the hotel) would have subsided. I am apparently naive to club life and who Hard Rock's target audience is. I was on the 4th floor and the music was literally vibrating my bed. I called down to ask how long the music was going to continue, the staff said 1:30am (unapologetically). I asked if there was anything they could do, they said they'd send up ear plugs. Around 12:300, a guy in a dirt green jumpsuit bangs on my doors and says "Engineering". When I open up, he literally dumps a handful of earplugs into my outstretched hand and says "have a good one man". I will be staying far away from the Hard Rock next time I find myself in San Diego.

If you want a hip party hotel this is the place for you. It has 2 night clubs in it and they get wild and crazy on weekends. The spa was excellent! The first 2 nights we stayed in a regular 2 bed room but they're pretty small and not accomidating for 4 women so we upgraded to a sweet which was awesome. Great balcony. The hotel is located right at the entrance to the Gaslamp so it's within walking distance of all the great restaurants and shops/mall. You can also walk to Seaport Village which is so beautiful and is a great walk along the water. Excellent seafood restaurants. Highly recommend "Fish Market" for a wonderful seafood restuarant near USS Midway.
