This was the best hotel I have stayed at in a long time. The staff was great. The room was very clean. Everything was great. Great place to escape the world. The roof top bar and pool is great. If you have a chance, stay here.

Great location - off main ""strip,"" yet still within GasLamp area and very convenient! Each & Every Member of the Staff that We Encountered Were Awesome! Polite, friendly, service oriented to the max. Understated elegance throughout the hotel (restaurants, lobby and rooms) that was very soothing and relaxed. The car escort to various locations within the GasLamp District was a true added benefit that we appreciated greatly. Loved the idea of the ""bath butler;"" and room service was delicious! Enjoyed cocktails on the rooftop lounge, late afternoon and early evening - but could do without the nighttime scene up there! It does get loud into the a.m. hours - beware of the upper level rooms for noise into the night. We feel lucky to have found this one & would absolutely come back again on our next visit!

This is the best boutique hotel in downtown San Diego and the hottest hotel in the area. Had brunch in the hotel's incredible restaurant. On the weekends, this hotel is central to the nightlife in the Gas lamp area. On the weekends the hotel caters to the young crowd. If you don't want to participate, there are plenty of secluded areas in the hotel. The staff was incredible. The massages on the rooftop near the pool were the best massages that I?ve had while traveling. The hotel's staff caters to its guests. The rooms were chic and interesting. Our stay was shortly after the hotel opened, so they hadn't worked out every problem. But if I had to rate this hotel on a scale from 1-to-10, it's a 9.1. My lady asked the front desk and conceirge every question you could imagine and spent an hour every morning asking about things to do and they were too happy to help. Would love to stay at this hotel again.

After meeting with several hotels in the San Diego area, I soon realized The Ivy was where we needed to stay. Everything from the warm welcome to the constant willingness to accommodate our every need. It has the modern, masculine and professional style of NY with the hip and sexy energy of Los Angeles all brought together in beautiful downtown San Diego. You can venture out of the hotel if you wish, however there really is no place you'd rather be on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening - especially if you're single. Sunday - Wednesday is quiet yet available and most appropriate for a business retreat. Specifically for those who not only work hard, but like to play hard when the work is complete. Can't wait to go back!
