The hotel was great! Nice location that was a quick walk to the financial district. Easy access to subways (which were wonderful after doing one ride just to figure them out). Nice corner market 2 blocks away for fresh fruit. Very comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Decorated like an IKEA store model. Bring your own wine - theirs is expensive. They fill up the ice bucket every evening around 5 pm. Take the subway to Brooklyn and walk back across the Brooklyn bridge to the hotel at sunset!

Just returned home from a stay at Duane St hotel. The concierge * was charming and most helpful and helped us in every way possible. The rooms were very clean and the hotel had a quiet ambience and european flair. The hotel was located near many very good restaurants and especially loved Bouley Bakery. The best croissants ev er! I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there on my next trip up. We really enjoyed the minimalist look of the hotel.Great if you suffer from allergies, very green.

We enjoyed our stay at the Duane St. Hotel, however the room was extremely small. We had to creatively arrange our empty luggage in order to have room to walk. The room was exceptionally clean and the decor was appealing. The Tribeca area seems to be quieter than Midtown, which is where we have previously stayed. It is a little bit of a cab ride to get to most attractions though. There was no doorman and only one attendant at the front desk for concierge and/or hotel needs. This was a little bit inconvenient. Overall, for the price, I would stay at this hotel again.

Very nice small boutique hotel in Tribeca. Nice design, light airy room with good amount of space for New York with good in-room amenities. Not much in the way of hotel amenities, but who really spends that much time in their hotel in New York? Staff was very courteous, helpful and friendly.

Arrived at Duane St. Hotel at 3PM, after a 31/2 hour trip, to find our room not ready for 1 hour. They said either have a drink at the bar or take a walk and come back. We took a walk since the drinks were not offered as complimentary. They said our bags would be awaiting us in our room but had been sent elsewhere .Quickly resolved that issue. Next day, out from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm to return and find the bed unmade, wet towels where we left them, and the room had not been touched! Response was we'll send someone right up but we opted for next day clean-up so we could prepare for our evening out. Did not want to vacate the room while they cleaned. Fresh towels were delivered. When I complained, explainging that a room makeup was the most elementary service one would expect from any hotel, we were told they just fired half the staff and, only then, were we offered an upgrade to a larger room and a complimentary breakfast. The room change the next day was fine and certainly larger but discovered the toilet didn't flush. Someone did come up immediately and fixed with a snake. Tried to use the comp breakfast tickets which we noticed said "continental" breakfast. We added scrambled eggs and pancakes, not taking advantage of the fruit or juice. We paid $45.00 becuase they would not swap out any of the features...coffee, and a croisant would have been part of the comp but not honored. By the way, they charged us $5.00 for each coffee!. Would have been happy to pay for the extras but were denied by the waitress. We were tired of fighting and gave up. Upside-very clean. Disappointed that Conde Nast Traveler recommended!
