I had a great time at this hotel recently. I was traveling with my somewhat disabled octogenarian parent, and everyone on staff was extremely friendly and accommodating for us. The hotel is located 2 blocks from the Art Institute and The Berghoff (an old-timey Chicago favorite place), about 4 blocks from Macy's and The Walnut Room (also an old-timey favorite place) and a lot of other good stuff. Though the weather was wintry, I managed a nice walk out to the lake, which was very close. I was also able to rent a car about 6 blocks away at the Budget place on Wabash. All in all, a good value for the money. The breakfast is nothing to write home about, but the coffee's okay and there are some nice options like cold cereal, real orange juice and fruit , hard boiled eggs, etc.

We spent four days and nights "doing Chicago" and enjoyed every bit of it. The hotel staff, especially Tina, made it even more enjoyable. Two nights we ate in, ordering room service from an nearby excellent Italian restaurant which Tina facilitated. The staff recommended excellent restaurants for the other two evenings. The included breakfasts were excellent. The rooms were comfortable, large enough and with comfortable beds. Staff service was excellent. This hotel is one-half block from the Blue Line #serving O'Hare Airport# and one-half block from the Red Line #serving Wrigley Field#. It is three blocks from Millenium Park and three blocks from your wine and beer outlet at Walgreen on State Street. You won't go wrong with this hotel. Jim and Noel from Roanoke

Traveled for business week of April 16th. I was taken back by how small the entrance was (I am kind of a hotel snob) the hotel is very narrow but tall. However, upon checking in and touring the hotel a bit, I started to appreciate how cool this place was. LOVED there are only 9 rooms per floor. This is the first hotel I have stayed in where I did NOT hear people coming and going. I was on the end near the elevators, I really anticipated to hear a lot but never did. I was on the 8th floor and faced another building so there was not much to look at, however, the windows span the length of the room and the curtains are "theater(ish)". Loved it!! Room was clean, bed was AMAZING and I took advantage of the couch and ottoman each night. Very happy with breakfast. I was more impressed w/the "breakfast to go" (already made up bags). The gym is on the 5th floor and seems to be the only thing on that floor. I did feel a bit insecure being in the room by myself but soon realized there are surveillance cameras and mirrors along one entire wall. I could see if anyone was coming in or behind me. I also liked the fact you had to use your room keycard to get in to the gym (as well as each floor with rooms). Location is amazing!! I was just a few blocks from the banking/insurance sector for work but then only a few blocks (in the other direction) from Lake Michigan. Was able to walk to my office and then jog down to the lake front for a run after my day was done. There are shops/restaurants super close and I never had to wander off far to find what I needed. Especially the Chop House which is right across the street (best steak I have ever had!!). I did walk to Watertower to shop and must admit, that was a long walk. I ended up taking a taxi back however, cost was minimal at $6. Well worth it!! The hotel is attached to the Bank of America Theater. I had no idea who/what was playing until I arrived. I soon found it was Jersey Boys. I was able to go to the ticket office on the day of the production and get a SUPER rate for an amazing seat (I was 12th row center, orchestra). Recommend trying this if you are flexible, was ideal for a business traveler!! I will stay here again without a doubt!! The only thing I will do different is to request a higher floor so I can have a view (the hotel is 21 floors if memory serves me).

This hotel is literally right above the Majestic Theatre in downtown Chicago, right around the corner from an El Blue Line station, and a few blocks from Michigan Avenue. Even if it weren't so comfortable and well-run the location would be enough to recommend it; however, it also has clean spacious rooms, great service, and a generous complimentary breakfast. It's not a discount establishment, but you get what you pay for here.
