I stay at City in November on an emergency business visit. This hotel is located directly in th heart of the city with a very updated and modern look. All of the local "city" attractions are in walking distance. There are several great restaurants in town and lots of sight seeing. The amenities are really intended to cater more towards the "business" traveler. The rate was reasonable and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The hotel had its own restaurant, which appeared very nice, but I was more interested in dining in town. Our room was HUGE with a kitchen area... the stove was disabled intentionally. Overall, my stay was quite comfortable and pleasant. If you're not looking to dish out $300-800 per night at one of the island's resorts, this would be a good alternative. This hotel does not have a pool, and it's about 5 mins driving distance from the nearest beach. Most of the beaches in Antigua are open to the public. If your intention is to spend a considerable amount of time at the beach, this i not the hotel for you. If you're looking to explore the island and you don't care much about a pool, then this hotel would be perfect for you. I would suggest renting a car upon arrival (approx. $* per day average) as the local taxies and tours are expensive. I must say that I've visited a few caribbean islands and I feel totally safe walking the streets of Antigua.
