This hotel was absolutely amazing!. The lobby was georgeous and so was our room. The grounds, pools and beaches were great. The beach lounge chairs were not that comfortable but the pool ones were okay. The food was so good! Staff was amazing. They were at your beckin call every day. The lobby bar bartender (Hey Abundio) was so cool! Nightly shows were fun. Definately take dressier cloths for night. I felt a little underdressed. We will for sure go back next year with the kids!

We had a great stay. Our last trip to Cancun was in March of 2007 and we stayed at the Grand Oasis in a room right on the beach. Yet, that hotel still pails in comparison to the Riu Palace Las Americas. This time there was a total of 11 of us, 3 of which were children. The beach in front of this hotel is calm so it's perfect for kids. You need to make reservations for the specialty restaurants the day that you arrive. No need to make reservations for the Buffet. The desk you make the reservations at is located next to check-in and is open from 8a.m. to 9p.m. Since this is an all-inclusive you will receive a wristband upon arrival. This needs to stay on throughout your stay. Make sure when you leave your room that you hear that little click that the door locked. Push the door just to make sure. One of our 5 rooms had this problem but we noticed it the first day of arrival. Don't want anyone breaking into your room on vacation. I would recommend a few must do's on your trip. Chichen Itza, Xcaret- Cancuns most amazing eco park. Enjoy Mayan culture and tour; Cancun beach, scuba diving and Cancun resort. book online at least 2 days in advance of the day you want to go and save 10%, get the plus package it includes lunch, and Market ;the best shopping for gifts and souvenirs. And last but not least, relax and enjoy.

Upon arrival the Hotel is Beautiful. We checked into our JR Suite and they had 2 fully made beds pushed together. I thought I requested a King size. I was informed that only the Jr suite with Ocean View had Kings so I tried to upgrade. They told me NO and said I had to call Travel online. After 30 minutes on the phone with Travel online they said I had to deal with the Customer service of the Hotel. This guy Finally hooked me up cause he knew I was gonna let somebody have it. I RECOMEND BOOKING IT BEFORE YOU GO CAUSE THEY WON'T HELP YOU. ALSO I COULD NOT UPGRADE MY FLIGHT HOME FROM CANCUN CAUSE I BOOKED WITH travel online. Anyway we got to our Beautiful room and the water was not on, when it came on 3 hrs later I wanted to take a shower but the watter was BROWN. NO JOKE, after about 6 hrs the water cleared up and stayed fine the remainder of the trip. The hotel did not smell except for the last day I was there cause all the housekeepers where cleaning the whole place.I did walk across the street to the little outdoor mall and you could smell the sewer there,so maybe somedays it smells inside the Hotel. THE WATER IS NON POTABLE, and I would say this is why it is not a 5 star hotel. The food selection is Great, They only had 1 type of beer XX Dos equis If you get offended by TOPLESS sunbathers I don't recomend the all inclusive hotels for you. The selection of Liquer was limited aswell, After the problems on the first night the rest of the week was Flawless, except the Shuttle driver that almost killed us in route to the Hotel.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, perfectly located and the staff was great. They even upgraded us to an Oceanfront room for FREE when we arrived. However, there was an ammonia odor in the room, if you have allergies come prepared, but after the first day we didnt notice it at all. Where we wish we had given the previous reviews more consideration is the food. The quality of the food, in all of the restaurants, were below reasonable standards. Edible, yes, but Shoneys would win, hands down, in comparison. Of those to choose from wed selected Krystal above the others. We also didnt like that the restaurants only had two seating times, 6:45 and 8:30pm. Often the 8:30 reservation filled up fast, and I didnt like waiting in line to make a reservation. They also serve everyone at the same time. We prefer the resorts whose restaurants allow you can come and go whenever and as often as youd like. We kept expecting the food would be better the next night at the next restaurant, but we were constantly disappointed. What could have been a fabulous trip, ended up being just Ok because of the poor food quality. I mean thats half of what you pay for in an All-Inclusive, so we felt a little duped. Id like to think the slow economy was the cause for the food quality and slow drink service, but we wont risk on our next vacation on it.

This hotel is a great place to stay. Yes, the room did smell, but you don't notice it after awhile and you aren't in your room all that much anyway. I got a free upgrade to an oceanview room, and they had drinks in my hand at check in, and they were apologizing that I had to wait to check in. The resort was super clean, you could eat off the floors. The service was excellent. I didn't want for anything the enitire trip. The bartenders are very liberal with the alcohol. One of the guests brought their own thermos from home and I watched one of the bartenders fill it with half a bottle of Bacardi. The food could use some work though. I found it to be overly salty. The buffets had a nice variety. The restaurant Krystal should not be missed. The pool and the beach were very nice. The ocean was rocky, so I would watch where you step. My only two complaints were that the beds were rock hard, and the fact that you had to get up at 7 to reserve your chair and umbrella. Be sure you put something on the umbrella or someone will take it. Also make sure you bring lots of sunblock. The sun is blazing hot this time of year, and you could be sitting in the shade and sweating. The moonlight massage on the beach through the spa should not be missed. It was an excelllent vacation.
