Deluxe-feel for affordable price, in challenging location

The hotel is lovely and amenities are as advertises. THe pool and workout area are nice, with accommodating hours. Starbucks in the lobby is always a welcome site! Our problem was that the shuttle service to popular neighborhoods was difficult to use. While the driver was exceedingly polite and friendly, the van service was unreliable while we were there. During a very hot weekend without a rental car, that made it difficult to get to restaurants for meals. It was too far for our group to walk, but would be doable for young adults. The Westin is in an industrial/maritime area with recent development of loft condos, museums, studios and offices. Until more retail opens up, it is a bit difficult to enjoy Boston from there. It is great for meetings and conventions, I am sure.

I stayed here with some friends while having my bachelor party in Boston. There was a conference of some kind going on so there were huge crowds around the entire time. At check in, the front desk had some trouble finding all of my reservations but the people were helpful and nice and we eventually found everything. The rooms were very nicely appointed and the beds were super comfortable which was good as I needed plenty of sleep after being out all night. This hotel isn't exactly convenient in location for downtown Boston visits but the walk wasn't too terribly bad (1.5 miles or so). The rooms were pretty expensive but overall it was quite nice so I'd recommend staying here (especially if your particular reason for visiting keeps you on the east end waterfront).

Stayed in Boston for a weekend during the holidays. What a great stay! Beautiful views from our room. In the middle of all Boston's activities. Close to shopping and many restaurants to choose from. Hated to return home. Looking forward to next December and my next trip to Boston.
