I absolutely loved my stay at the Back Bay Hotel. The only reasons I didn't give it 5's across the board were because our room had an odd shape which made it seem small and we were across the hall from the housekeeping closet, which someone has to be but it was noisy at times. Overall the quality was great, room service was exceptional, and I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Boston!

This hotel is spectacular. From the location, decor, and staff, the Back Bay hotel is a great deal you shouldn't pass up. The hotel is just steps from attractions. No mater which direction you head, you will be at a popular tourist spot. If you need help finding where to go, just ask the friendly staff. My favorite part of the hotel is the spacious and comfortable rooms.

This was our twentieth anniversary trip. The Back Bay Hotel helped make this an amazing trip. The staff was wonderful and very friendly and helpful. This was our first time to Boston and we didn't know anything about the area to know where to make hotel reservations. When I called the hotel asking about the location, they were very helpful and I was thrilled once I got there and saw it in person. We did have a problem with our room, but we brought it to the staff's attention and they immediately got us to a new room and made up for our inconvenience. Also, on our last evening in town, we bought some pastries from a bakery to take home to our kids and the hotel was more than happy to freeze them for us overnight so they would make our flight home. I would definitely recommend The Back Bay Hotel in Boston. Tip - We asked for a room higher up and away from the bar so it would be quieter. We got a wonderfully quiet room.

Hotel is located one block from Copley Square, walking distance to Newbury St., Boyleston, Boston Garden and Prudential Center. There are two transit lines to choose from, so you can see all of Boston from there. Many fine shops and excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. Staff is always courteous and available for information. Excellent lounge and fine restaurant in hotel itself. Room is small, with flat screen TV, but nice large bathroom. We would choose to stay there again and highly recommend it.

Overall my guest and I had a very nice experience at the Back Bay Hotel. The lobby area is beautifully decorated and creates a very warm and welcoming entrance that is open to the in-house restaurant. The staff is very courteous and I'll admit when we arrived, we looked like a total mess (not to mention we are far younger than the usual patrons of such a place) yet they treated us with the utmost respect, a plus in my book considering other situations I have had. Also during my stay I decided to make a special order of flowers very early in the morning which the staff member on hand not only assisted in calling up multiple florists until they found what I wanted but hand delivered them to the room and called me directly the moment they arrived as I was away at the time of delivery. When we entered the room, it was well lit showing it off quite nicely and brightly, including the very large and nice bathroom with the marble counter if I recall correctly. It was also warm and cozy and the window was definitely insulated keeping the warmth in considering it was the middle of winter. The tv and the cable included had a very nice picture quality as well and the bed and it's covers and pillows were supremely comfortable. The hotel is nicely located as well. A couple of blocks from Newbury St. with it's small shops and restaurants and across the street from Grill 23 which had a delicious aged rib eye and seasoned french fries. Sadly I was unable to try the in-house restaurant on this stay. My only slight issue is with the design of the room. The bathroom takes up an unnecessarily large amount of room and intrudes in to the sleeping area, creating a somewhat confined area. The fact that it is located tightly packed among other buildings is very evident in its style and tight design. So even though it was very comfortable, it did not receive a perfect score. At the same time, the price seemed slightly high in comparison to the room size. Though the room service and dry cleaning prices seemed about on par with a hotel like this (which means on the pricey side) though I do have to admit that the room service meals were very good. So once again, overall I had a very nice and very cozy experience at the Back Bay Hotel and I would return to it again if I take another trip to Boston, though perhaps I would prefer to do it at a coupon or special pricing rate with my arguments about the room sizing. Or just go for a nice weekend, not a whole week like I did as it really bites in to the wallet after a while.
