Toilet wouldn't flush (no, I hadn't gone yet). Tub insert had a rip, so the tub floor squished. Dart water started coming up from the train. Damp bare feet turned black, from walking on the carpet. Wireless internet didn't work in my room. When I went downstairs to switch to a less-gross room, I was given an option. I asked if it was clean. The person at the front desk said that ALL their rooms were clean. He must not have heard the first 4 reasons I listed to move rooms. My next rooms walls were so thin the neighbor kept me up all night with his coughing cold. The new room's tub had a good amount of mildew too.

My wife and I travel to Austin periodically to visit a son who lives there. The Baymont is quite inexpensive, yet offers all the amenities we need. Fancy? No. But clean, affordable, TV, wifi, free breakfast, and easily accessible by car to everywhere? Yes. We plan to keep comin back.

The hotel was nasty. I wouldn't call it a hotel, it was more like a motel with doors facing to the outside. The room smelled, the bathtub was gray ( I put a towel down in the tub before I got into it) and the carpet did not look clean (I wore my sandals when walking around the room). To top it off, it was invested with hundreds of crickets! I asked for my money back after the first night!

This place is a relic. The tile looked like something from my Grandmas house which was built in the 20's. The paint and wallpaper also looked like it had not been updated since the 1920's (the hotel cannot be that old, I would guess 1960's or 70's). I could not connect to the internet. The room was very worn and a little dirty. On the plus side: AC was cold. Bed was comfortable. I didn't see any bugs in my room. The lights all worked.

Sure this hotel needed some minor repairs, but it was in a great location and was a great value. Since we weren't spending alot of time in the room anyway, it didn't make alot of sense to pay for a pricey hotel. I did see a few things that the hotel needed to improve on, such as the water pressure at the sink and the outside appearance of the hotel. This being said, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was enjoyable and we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
