You definitely get what you pay for. Here are the No-No's that I experienced during my stay at this hotel: Wireless service not working In-room telephones not working (No dial tone/no service) 2 remote control devices needed in order for TV to work No maid service Polyester bedding Very slow toilet flush Noisy air conditioner Windowless, small, cramped room No place to hang your clothes (except for cramped mid-sized wardrobe closet) Miniature tabletop ironing board

I strongly recommend this hotel. Its in the center of Old San Juan, in a charming building right on the Plaza. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The room was basic but otherwise excellent. if you want the Ritz, this isn't it, but for the price its hard to beat.

  • Worst experience of my life by staying there.

I have to bear 12 hour electricity failure now one can imagine what should I write here even then just due to 80% of staff members service and their behaviors I am bothering to rate or review. The worst part is no phone line within the rooms to call for some service or to contact with any other friends you have in some other rooms. No mobile signals at all within the room, No Refrigerator, Oven, phone line, cafe not even for tea or coffee or water. Its not that good look as presented in pictures. There was too much noise in AC, how can I forget the basin, water just remain stand still in it and I have to use tooth pics or wires to make it drain. Comparing to hotel location I want to gave them 0. I wish I shot some pictures of everything I had experienced :@

It's a far cry from the casino/bright-light/lap of luxury hotel that line Isla Verde in San Juan proper, but this hotel in Plaza de Armas in Old San Juan was the absolute perfect fit for this solo traveler who was looking for little more than a cozy place to crash at night after a day/evening on foot. Breakfast wasn't a highlight, but right outside the hotel is a well-established cafecito place that locals frequent. I had a great time sitting there and watching the locals (the same people every morning) chat it up before heading in to work. At one juncture, my hot water went out and on the day that it didn't work, the friendly staff gave me a key to another room to use as I pleased for showering, etc. The concierge gave me a ton of helpful hints for getting around the city on a budget, and directed me to all the best places to swim. All this being said, if I were to return to this hotel, I'd spring for a room with windows, but the windowless room was clean, comfortable, and was ridiculously friendly on my wallet.

  • NO Windows!!!

This inn has a perfect location in the heart of old san juan, but the rooms are small and windowless. you have to step outside to see any sunlight!
