Important Hotel Information
- Beginning March 1, 2013, the South Point Hotel will be charging a nightly resort fee of 12.50 plus tax, 14.00 total. This fee will include in room Wi-Fi, use of fitness center, local and toll free phone calls from guest rooms, boarding passes, and airport shuttle.

Nice hotel but you need a car

We were renting a jeep 4x4 for the weekend to get out in the canyons and so renting where everything is not in walking distance was not a problem. This was a perfect hotel for that as it is still easily on las vegas blvd just a few miles after mandalay bay. With the strip being as big as it is now having a car is nice anyways (lots of free parking) and we found this hotel a nice respite from the main srip. One negative was that the sunday brunch is no where near as good as a simple restaruant and more expensive.

The hotel was very clean and very roomy for the low cost compared to other Vegas Hotels. As with most Vegas hotels the smoking in the casino was out of control. They needed a lot better smoke removal system. My wife's allergies were acting up seriously as soon as we spent our first hour in the casino. The on site restaurants were OK. The Buffet was the best but the smell of smoke was everywhere including in the restaurants that were in the same space as the casino. Loved having Steak & Shake on site. The shuttle service to and from the strip was nice and cheap compared to the taxi services. Free airport shuttle service was very convenient. The Bingo room was a smoke filled mess. The Hotel itself is very nice and there is lots to do.
