We enjoyed staying at South Point. We arrived late evening and were immediately met by the valet service and directed to check in. Luggage was brought promptly to our room which was spacious. We dined at three of the restaurants on property and were very pleased with the service and the quality of the food. The work out facility was great though they do charge extra. The pool area was convenient but was very basic. We did rent a car and enjoyed staying off the strip. The hotel also featured 16 movie theaters and also a 60 lane bowling alley. Although we did not take our kids on this trip, I believe it would be a good location for families.

We travel to Vegas twice a year for business and have done so for 20 years. We have stayed in many hotels and visited most of them. The South Point feels like home away from home. The food is fantastic and for Vegas, very reasonable unless you dine at Michael's. We were going to eat dinner there and asked for a menu. The prices are extremely high. If you like prime rib, the Silverado Steak house is the place to go. All of the restaurants are very reasonably priced except Michael's. Their snack bar by the Sports Book has great food! The rooms are very comfortable and spacious with a nice flat screen television. Also, they have an Oyster Bar that has a great menu. You can order clam chowder, sandwiches, 1 and a half pound of king crab legs, plus many more interesting choices which include an oyster shooter. If you like seafood this place is a must to try. I don't have one bad thing to say about the South Point other than it is very far from the strip and cab rides are expensive. Usually we don't even leave the South Point. It has everything right in the hotel including a 64 lane bowling alley, 16 screen theatre, an equestrian center and a really nice bingo room if you like bingo. If you stay at the South Point...I suggest renting a car to get around to other points of interest. It would be much cheaper than taking taxi's everywhere. If you are looking for a good buffet, I would go elsewhere. Their buffet isn't the best. We are going to stay at the South Point again in August, 2009 and can't wait to get there!

Great hotel. The quietest I think I've ever been in - never heard a door slam, people walking in the hallways, never heard the quests in the next room. Just a great experience. Nice big casino and good food. And a great price! Would gladly stay there again.

This hotel is very very nice and its fairly priced. At first i was going to go very cheap and stay at the sahara or Circus Circus but i decided to go with south Point. I am so glad i went with them because during my stay i had a chance to see the other hotels and oh my god they were just trashy. South Point was very nice and classy, first day at South point we didn't leave the hotel. South point has so much, from bowling to a movie theater inside the hotel. Rooms are incredible, big spacious and very nice. Its not that far from the strip about 5-10 minutes. I don't have one bad thing to say about this hotel i really look forward to staying there again!!

We had stayed at the South Point about 3 years ago. Glad to see that they have maintained their standards! The rooms were nice and roomy, not cramped like some of the strip hotels. Nice flat panel TV with a good variety of channels for both hubby (CNBC) and the kids (Disney). We brought along a portable DVD player and was able to hook it up to the TV, which kept our kids entertained (4 & 2 year olds). Our room overlooked the pool, which was nice. The casino was not so large that it was hard to navigate. The buffet was great, even better than at a strip hotel in my opinion. If you park in the covered structure, the distance from your car to the casino is not long. Also, the checkin/checkout lines aren't too crazy. We stayed here for the weekend (Friday and Saturday) and moved to a south strip hotel for Sunday. Next time, we will just stay here for another day. Although it is far from the strip, I think it's better in terms of comfort. If you want something closer to the strip, you won't get as good a value for your money.
