We stayed here at the end of a three week trip through the Western national parks and it was a super hotel. Our room was very large, compared to other Las Vegas hotels, very clean and the bathroom was very spacious. This is a newer hotel so everything is still in excellent shape. The breakfast buffet was a bargain!! They even had steak and pork chops along with lots of delicious breakfast, Asian and Mexican foods. South Point is out past the airport so may not be very convenient if you do not have a car, but if you do it is very easy to reach it from RT 15. The views are gorgeous and the area is not as crazy as the strip. The equestrian center had a rodeo, and then bloodless bullfighting while we were there. The staff was very nice and helpful. The business center was able to help us with our boarding passes and luggage check-in for a very reasonable fee. We are not gamblers so cannot comment on how loose the slots are or the table games. We would definitely go back to South Point the next time we go to Las Vegas.

I booked a room at the South Point Hotel and Casino for about $* less on Travel website than the South Point website. The place was clean; I asked for nonsmoking and I got it. They offered good service and I will certainly try there again if the price is right.

Let me first say that this is the 6th time my husband and I have stayed at SP and loved it every time - this was the first time we'd had any problems. So upon arrival to SP, hotel clerk checked us in with a minimal amount of words - should have known something was up then! Got up to our room - 7th floor - we walked in and it was nicely appointed. Then I went to open the curtains and ta-daaa! A nice view of a wall! We went back down stairs and another hotel clerk assisted us. They said that if you book their hotel room through anyone other than SP, you get a view of a wall. But for 10 dollars more a night you can get a view room - which really all that means is a view of the mountains or pool. Better than staring at a wall for five days! Ugghhh, it was very frustrating as we have always gone through travel online for this hotel and we have never, ever had to deal with a view of a wall - and for them to tell us this is now policy and you have to pay more for the view - I was pissed! Needless to say, I paid the extra 10 bucks and got the 19th floor and view of the mountains - room was nice and I have absolutely no complaints about it. Casino is tight - so you probably want to gamble elsewhere. Hotel is far from the strip - so plan on renting a car. Food is so-so - I would skip the buffet if I were you - even if they give you a bogo coupon at check-in! Pool refreshing and clean! Bowling and theater nice.

Away from the stip but well worth it! Beautiful views of the city and the mountains. Our room view consisted of the mountains on our right and the city lights to our left so we were able to get pictures of both! Great food~variety of full service restaurants, deli's, steak houses and coffee shops. The buffet had a beautiful atmosphere as well as spectacular food. Oyster bar...the king crab legs were already split open for me so I didn't make a complete mess at the counter. bowling~we took advantage of the $ bowling special. Nice and spacey...we were not cramped up. pool~was beautiful, especially at dawn! movie theater~full service theater...good popcorn and candy! The seats were so comfortable. deli~the sandwiches and danishes were great! room~was nice, spacious and clean. The bed was so comfortable...slip in and fall asleep fast! Clean and stocked restrooms throughout the facility....in the bowling center, in the casino, in the rooms, in the theater, in the pool area. Everyone was very nice and friendly. This is a great place...can't wait to go back.
