I stayed at the South Point over New Years weekend 2010 to 2011. The rooms were clean with nice views of the city. Please secure a room with a view of the strip in advance of your arrival. The restaurants and room service were excellent. I loved the margaritas and dinner at Baja Miguels. I enjoyed Bingo (won $* thanks), but one cocktail waitress can't serve the group in the evenings. Please take your own drinks to the more crowded Bingo sessions or you will be left thirsty. The hotel is about 4 1/2 miles south of the strip and away from the strip traffic jams. The location is a huge bonus for shoppers. The South Point hotel sits near two major shopping centers, the Las Vegas Outlet and Las Vegas Town Center. It's also about two minutes from the interstate I-15. So make the trip to Primm where I picked up some ridiculous deals at the Fashion Outlet shops (a $* Burberry skirt and 50% off plus another 30% off at the register at NEIMAN MARCUS). Gambling the South Point was cool! I hit a couple of small jackpots $* total on the pennies (monopoly, spin, dragon games) and quarters. Have a great trip!

We have stayed at the South Point multiple times and it provides a great value compared to other hotels. It's a little ways from the strip, but they have a shuttle service to the strip and it's very quiet with no traffic. The casino is always clean, restaurants are good, and the rooms are always spotless. Definitely recommend!

This hotel is at the beginning of the strip but, you can't beat the value. If you plan on walking the strip...take the shuttle for $8. A family with children will be able to keep them entertained with the bowling alley, arcade and movie theater. The outlet mall is a couple miles down the strip. I must say that I am a veteran to the hotel and it never gets old. The rooms are always nice and clean. The staff is courteous and helpful. And, for the drinkers...the cost of the spirits in the gift shop are unbeatable. Can't say much about the restaurants...let me see...the deli is good, enjoyed the coffee(Seattle's Best), the ice cream parlor, good, and Baja Miguel, the mexican food, LOVED IT. Didn't go to any of the buffets. Hope this is helpful.

This was my second stay @ this hotel and although it is a few miles from the strip, it has always been a positive experience every time. Not as expensive as Red Rock though both have pretty much the same accomodation. Service is excellent, casino floor is clean and not as smogy, less crowded and most importantly hotel rate is cheaper than the comparable hotels along the strip. Their buffet though can use a little upgrade but can still be considered average. It will also help if there is free wifi or internet connection in every room instead of charging daily, otherwise free connectivity is always available in the hotel lobby. I'm looking forward for my third visit at this hotel or maybe I'll try the newer hotel M, a few miles father from the strip for comparison.

We recently did a one night saty at South Point. The room size was great and the price as well. There was plenty to do ina short time. The buffet was great, so much variety. The hotel staff was very helpful and the beds restful. We would stay there again.
