Pleasantly surprised!
02/03/2011Very affordable and luxurious. nice to be close enough to the places we needed to go but not have to fight the traffic of the strip.

I got what I paid for. Nothing more, nothing less. I asked for a king but was given 2 queens, which did me no good as I was alone. The beds were only a little more comfortable than the floor, and the shower's water pressure left me feeling more soapy than clean. The television remote had dead batteries, and the maids ignored my do not disturb placard. * dollars a night is a fair deal, but being located nowhere near the strip and charging so much for shuttle access makes me want to explore other options next time. Although I would like to add that the bellhop did a fantastic job and was extremely friendly.

Hotel is located about 7 miles from the main lights on the strip. Our room was clean and quiet, all that we wanted for a Las Vegas hotel. Ate breakfast at their buffet and it was fine, but not elaborate like other LV hotels. Only major complaint was not having FREE WI-FI access. It is available in the lobby. However, when most small hotels provide it, it should be available at South Point. Other complaint, as I have had at other LV hotels, the amount of smoke throughout the hotel casino. Our room was non-smoker and it did not have a foul odor like the main area. We also spent several days at the M Hotel in Henderson. It was built about the same time as South Point but is contemporary in design and in very 'new' condition. More expensive but worth the price. Computer access available in our room for free. If this large hotel provides it SP could also provide it. Since there are so many competive hotels in LV we would look for another hotel with free WI-FI in our room.
