- Beginning March 1, 2013, the South Point Hotel will be charging a nightly resort fee of 12.50 plus tax, 14.00 total. This fee will include in room Wi-Fi, use of fitness center, local and toll free phone calls from guest rooms, boarding passes, and airport shuttle.

This is an enormous hotel built around a casino catering to middle class gamblers. It's a long walk through the casino to get to the elevators to get up to your room. If you like casinos, this hotel is fine, but if you don't, find another hotel. We were on the 7th floor and there was a lot of loud music and noise until about 10 pm. The room was fine, things worked, and it was clean.

South Point in Las Vegas is a one of the best values in Vegas. The food prices were better than any other resort or casino. The verity of food varied from hot dog ( $* in the sport bar area) to prime rib. We ate buffet, Mexican and prime rib during our stay and never had a poor experience. The value and service were wonderful. Lunches ranged from sandwiches, hamburgers (Steak and Shake) to sit-down menu. Lines moved well at most of the lunch areas but could be over whelming if you were on a tight schedule. Rooms were large, comfortable and well maintained. Check-in was fast, but we came in early afternoon, mid-week. Late afternoon lines were longer but moved quickly. House keeping was very accommodating about cleaning our room. We wanted early morning cleaning while we were at morning meetings while some guests on our floor were wanting late day cleaning. Lots of activities to do if you have family with you or are not big on gaming. The movie theater had multiple shows with shows most of the day. There is a game room (video, air ball) and a bowling alley. Great selection of alley food at the snack bar (pizza, chili, nachos, doughnuts). The South Point also has an arena so I got to watch some of the horse show. Other activities happen in the arena besides horse shows. We didn't get to the show room as we went down to the strip to see a Circ. show. Head liners were interesting and ticket prices were good. Travel from the airport is about 25 minutes due to construction. Cost us $*. Hotel has a $* round trip shuttle to the strip several times as but there is city bus service at the front drive.

03/09/2011Wasnt in town to go to the strip so it was the perfect location. quiet, nice rooms, good prices on everything, and very hospitable.
