- Beginning March 1, 2013, the South Point Hotel will be charging a nightly resort fee of 12.50 plus tax, 14.00 total. This fee will include in room Wi-Fi, use of fitness center, local and toll free phone calls from guest rooms, boarding passes, and airport shuttle.

We stayed here during a youth conference because the rates were reasonable. I would not stay here again, though, because it was very hard to get in and out of the hotel (it literally took me 10 minutes to get from my room to my car), it was inconvenient to find breakfast (had to drive 20 minutes), and the rooms did not have microwaves or refrigerators. The ad says that this hotel is close to the strip, but it took about a half hour of driving (not that close in my book). This hotel is also NOT close to other places to eat, which made the whole meal situation a challenge (esp. with kids). I'm sure South Point intends for people to eat their meals on site, but it is VERY noisy, full of smoke, and pretty expensive. I couldn't wait to get outside. Another problem is that you have to walk completely through the casino every trip in and out of the hotel (once again, not appropriate for kids). Probably a good place if you are intent on gambling, but otherwise, do not stay here.

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary in Aug 07, but we plan to go back this August for our 5th yr anniversary and will definitely be staying at South Pointe. No doubt, that it can hold it's own against big name, overpriced/overrated hotels on the strip! I am a stickler for cleanliness, never have a seen a hotel room so clean. In addition there were a variety of activities to choose from (bowling, movies) which we indulged ourselves in when we didn't feel like leaving the hotel some days. When we did feel up to a day on the strip, they had a shuttle that ran every 30 minutes sharp all the way till 12 midnight, which was very convenient for us since we opted out of renting a car, plus saved us a fortune in cab fare. I think what I liked best about the place was the pool/lounge area, which was huge! particularly the outdoor hot tub, even though it was HOT, I still couldn't resist a short soak in the hot tub ( I live in a cold climate, Michigan, so I'm very tolerant of heat). I could be here all night and never say enough about this hotel, go check it out for yourself! It's Awesome!
