    Hotel 71 has all of the typical amenities of a nice hotel. It is possible to find a competitive price from time to time however most of the time it is quite expensive. As a business traveler it is hard to justify the higher costs regardless of the amenities.

    Hotel 71 was a great location for our family visit to Chicago. It was recommended to me by a friend who used it for business travel. The location couldn't have been better for us (my husband, daughter and me). We stayed five nights. We easily walked to many places, maybe took about four cab rides when distance was a little too far to walk. The front desk staff was very helpful, they made our reservations for the architecture tour. Used the Valet parking. The valet staff was helpful; retrieved an item we had forgotten in our vehicle. We had the added excitement of being there while the Transformers 3 movie was being filmed at the site. My only complaint is that when I booked the room, it was supposed to be a deluxe RIVER view. We were not given a room with a river view. Although it was a nice big room and you could see a sliver of the lake off in the distance. I did not complain to the desk about the room. My husband liked the room and we were very tired from our day of driving, so we just accepted it. (I'm the complainer, he's not.)

    My wife and I stayed at the Hotel 71 for a short getaway to Chicago. The location can't be beat - right along the river in the heart of downtown, we were minutes from everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were friendly and our room was clean and very tastefully decorated. And the view was magnificent! Would definitely stay here again.
