We stayed at Hotel 71 last Sunday evening. From the time we pulled up in front of the hotel until we walked out to our promptly delivered vehicle, we were treated like royalty.. like we really WERE somebody. Check in was simple, quick, and cordial. The room was spectacular with view of the river and Lake Michigan. Dinner that evening in their hotel restaurant Hoyt's, was spectacular with Alex being our server. The bed seemed new with white crisp bedding. Breakfast back in HOYT's was once again special with Zack delivering the food. After this stay, we will always check for availability at Hotel 71 first! If you do stay there, give Hoyt's a try.

I think on a whole the hotel was very nice. The beds were kind of stiff and the springs squeaked a little when you rolled over and they could have used a couple of extra pillows. The view from our room was the back of a building and a dumpster so that wasn't good. The bathtub stopper didn't work so when I took a bath I couldn't drain the water. When I tried to open the door to one of the cabinets in the bathroom to see if there were any extra towels the door fell off. I'm sure there were other rooms that didn't have these problems, I just got stuck with the room that they hadn't fixed yet. I like where the hotel is located, it was within walking distance to all of the attractions.

I had booked two rooms and one of them being with double beds, but my bad, I accidently booked with two kings but the staff took care of it and gave us a room with two double beds even though the hotel was sold out. The rooms were excellent, staff was attentive and definately will stay there again next year we visit the NRA. The pros are, location, cleanliness, staff delightful, The cons. elevator extremely slow, didnt notice a pool or spa which would have been nice and only one restaurant and no gift shop for incidentals but i guess 7 eleven was across the street. For me the pros out weighed the cons and will definately stay there again.

They had their meetings in a conference room for 3 days in a row at the Hotel. Had breakfast and lunch served. The only complaint was about a croissant that was left out in the air too long, and that it was stale. Other than that, the lunch, our guys raved about!! There was plenty of a selection of meats to choose from and everyone was very happy!! In the hotel, the service was verrry good, checking in only took 3 minutes. The view from the room was just gorgeous! Comfy bed!! Better than the bed that I have at home!! :) All in all.......I give them an A++++
