After reading many negative reviews prior to leaving, I began to rethink the resort I had booked for my "Dream vacation." My son and I felt welcomed and like family when we arrived. Check in staff were awesome, courteous and attentive. Customer service seemed like it was going to be an issue when we arrived, due to the technical difficulty we experienced with the safe in our room, but after my visit to the front desk, it was never an issue during our stay. All the resot staff was extremely helpful. The bar tenders at the swim up bar were awesome and always returned my "MUY AMABLE"(very polite) with a "MUY HERMOSA" (very pretty), as well as going out of their way to ensure that my "regular" drink (MICHELADA) was adequate and to my liking. The waiters at all the restaurants were extremely nice, especially Jennifer at the World Cafe. I would not change anything about this marvelous resort. Before knowing the reason why, my son had an issue with not being allowed to use the goal nets for water polo. But was delighted when he found out that the entertainment guys hosted a waterpolo game for all to engage in. The nightly shows were fantastic. We were there on New Years Eve and I must say, these people know how to celebrate a New Year, without a doubt. And it really does not matter that you don't leave the resort, with all the wonderful amenities, you don't have to! This is definitely a spot to come back to. They have a happy customer, for life!

My wife & I spent our honeymoon at this resort 4 years ago & returned last month for our anniversary. The resort is run-down & needs renovating badly! I would NOT recommend this resort. We've stayed at several all-inclusive resorts over the years & this is a 3 star destination at best. Pool is the best part of the resort. Food & service is mediocre & beach is just okay. The rooms are the worst part of the resort & very few of them have views of the ocean. Spend your money somewhere else!
Very disappointed upon arrival because they didnt have my reservation in theyre10/08/2012

we were there for my sister's wedding sept 21-25 for 5 nights. wedding was great, we enjoyed the pool and restaurants up until Saturday..then the nightmare began..about 1-2 pm on Saturday, bus loads of local people came (900 of them) the staff said. with kids.they were the family ,friends of the people who worked for the all the resorts the company owned, suddenly the place and the pool looked like a kid's summer camp.people were running and yelling in hallways until late at night. Saturday night we could't get a table at the restaurants. we had a swim out room, however on sunday didn't go in to the pool because of the kids in the pool yelling and screaming.. people try to use the our lounge chairs we had in front of our room. Also Saturday they have vendors come from outside to sell you a very overprice items.. my wife purchased a nice neckless price they wanted was $150 , she payed $20 . The breakfast, lunch the food always was the same.. portofino restaurant good but not great, sea food restaurant was better.. get yourself upgrade to preferred club, about $75 a day per room. I gave 3 out of 5 because of the weekend crowed. staff and the overall resort and customer service were great.

I cannot say enough about how happy we were with our stay at Dreams Punta Cana. We just got back from our honeymoon and I felt I had to write this review. Every moment we were there we felt welcome and comfortable. check in was very easy although we had to hear a couple pitches to go see other resorts. We listened to them but opted to spend all of our time at Dreams. We stayed in the Preferred Club and upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite. I will say that while the advantages of the preferred club were few they were worth it. Free WIFI was nice and it was also nice to be able to go to the preferred club to get towels was also a nice plus. There was also a preferred club area of the beach but it was not really enforced though it didn't really bother me. We did however love eating breakfast at Oceana rather than having to go all the way to the World Cafe. We ate lunch at the Barefoot Beach Grill, Oceana (Preferred club only) and the World Cafe. Oceana was definitely the best. The Beach grill was limited in selection and the World Cafe was your standard buffet food. Dinner was excellent. We ate at Oceana, Portofino, and The Seaside Grill. I think our favorite of the three was Oceana. The food was good at all three. Portions are definitely not American portions, but we never left hungry. The Pool was great and the Beach was nice as well. If there was a downside to this resort it was the seaweed on the beach but this seems to vary during the day. When the tide was bringing the seaweed in it was a little annoying to swim but we cannot blame the resort. They spent a lot of time cleaning the seaweed. We loved the pool and never felt crowded there. We did notice that later in the week there was some chair claiming going on but it didn't really bother us as we simply found another part of the pool. I have seen some reviews complaining about the birds around the resort and yes while we were eating at Oceana we saw the birds flying around and eating off a couple tables that had not been cleared yet however this was more charming than annoying. the birds were more of a quaint little feature than anything else. The birds did not bother any diners and I never saw an ounce of their droppings. We wish we had taken advantages of more of the shows than we did but as we had just spent a hectic week with our wedding we wanted nothing more than to relax and we had no problem doing that! The room was very comfortable and the AC worked great. The Bathroom had a nice shower stall and the jacuzzi on the balcony was really nice though it did stop occasionally (I think due to overheating)
