My dad and I went over chrismas break and we loved this hotel it was one of the cheaper ones that was not patheticaly cheap. From the city view rooms if you look right you can see the ocean. When you check in they greet you and give you hawaiian water and macadamia and coconut cookies. The first night there we were so lost even the GPS got us lost. Just a heads up nobody in hawaii can tell directions or distance. My dad had to go to the doctor and many people told us it was a mile and so we walked and we ended walking about 3 hours just to find out later that they had a shuttle to the doctor and another branch of the doctor was about a football field away from the hotel in the rainbow bazar. Overall I loved Hawaii and the prices were only about .20 cent higher. I would certainly choose this hotel again. This is the most populated island of the 8 and the third biggest. Their highest crime is theft. In some parks they have signs that say leave car unlocked and windows down and take all possesions with you due to the crime. This supposed to give idea that there is little vaule in car. Would stay again. Have fun if you go there. Also a local travel agent in lobby to arrange on island activities and trips to the other islands. Worst part is the long elevators they would take 10-15min on a floor and 30sec in lobby/penthouse took them 1year to get elevators repair and cuurently are working on.

Checking in was very pleasant, quick and helpful. We upgraded and faced Diamond Head on the 10th floor, and the Hilton was across the street. They offer a continental breakfast of muffins and croissants, fruit uncut fruit, coffee and juices by the pool from 7am to 9am. Two elevators were working and they were slow - maybe that's why one was being renovated. We left in the morning and came back early afternoon and the housekeeper still had not gotten to our room. When we left, she was at the other end of the hall. However, when we came back later, the room was very clean. Parking is $20 a day, and spaces are tight. Don't rent a large vehicle or you won't be able to navigate around the corners. If you're heading to the downtown area, it may be a good idea to take the bus, which stops just outside at the front entrance area. There's a convenience store around the corner and a 7-11 at the end of the next block if you want to stock snacks in the fridge. The lanai has a table and two chairs and it's nice to watch the sunrise from there. The king sized bed was comfortable somewhat. It felt lumpy to me, but my husband loved it. The bathroom can be a tad bigger, but it had everything we needed. All in all, we were very pleased with this hotel and especially appreciated the friendly staff. They go the extra mile to help.

booked this room last minute. rates had fallen across hawaii, due to the economy. i was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel for my 3 night stay. nice, plush bed & a pull-out sofa was even in the room which was great for viewing tv, although i didn't use the sofabed. upgraded everything-42"" lcd on the wall, new fixtures, like-new furnishings. complimentary breakfast was a nice addition. overall, would definitely stay again when in waikiki.

We were in town for a short visit to see a friend, so didn't have the usual need for a luxurious hotel - thus the Aqua Palms. This hotel is at the west end of Waikiki a couple blocks off the water. We are runners, so being near to the Ala Wai bike path was a plus. The room was fairly nice with a view of the city. Everything was clean and the room included a refrigerator and microwave. A few minor issues with the room - the safe did not work and neither did the dead bolt n the door. This resulted in us having to cart around a few valuables that we would normally have put into the safe. The continental breakfast was about what one would expect - avoid the croissants, but the muffins were decent. They are in the process of upgrading the elevators in this hotel, one at a time. They have 3 elevators and only 2 were operating, resulting in long waits for the elevator. Since we were only on the third floor (really 6th, as there are 3 parking levels above the lobby), we ended up taking the stairs most of the time. Internet access in the rooms is ethernet only, but WiFi is accessible in the lobby area - they give you an ID/password good for 24 hours which can be renewed. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we asked for their assistance. Overall, a good option if you aren't expecting a resort experience at the hotel.

The front desk was extremely friendly, professional, and very nice. The pictures that I saw of the hotel were misleading because the hotel did not look the same. Had I known how it really looked I would have made another choice. The room was clean, the carpet looked dirty. The outside of the building needs work.
