First time in Honolulu and I had a wonderful eight day-vacation staying at Aqua Palms and Spa in Oct. 2010. Hotel is clean, room is nice with 42' flat screen tv and free internet. There is also a balcony. Bathroom is on a smaller side but they keep you suplied with bathroom amenities ( towels, shampoo, soap and lotion ). Beach towels are also available at Front Desk. My room has a microwae, mini fridge, coffee maker and ac. All work with no problem whatsoever. Location is at the beginning of Waikiki across the street from Hilton Village. Easy walking distance to Kalakaua Ave. where all the nice restaurants and shops are located. Beach is also short walk away. ABC store is just two blocks away to the right of the hotel. There is an IHOP rest. at the hotel. Friendly and helpful hotel staffs. There is a Manager's Reception in the evening on Wednesdays with some light snacks. I was so pleased with this hotel. Will definetly go back in a heart beat. Very recommended.

We were in the middle of everything, close to the beach, and within walking distance of almost everyhting we could have wanted from Waikiki. We compared prices and felt we got a great deal, and with the moderatley priced room upgrade we chose our stay was delightful.

I think my fiance and I would've liked this hotel better if it hadn't been so noisy! The room itself wasn't bad. It wasn't set up well, and the bathroom was so small it was hard to close the door while you were in it, but hey, we're in Waikiki, so it certainly wasn't a deal breaker. What was a dealbreaker though was it was extraordinarily noisy! You could hear people in the hall and traffic outside (depite being on the 6th floor) really clearly. One morning we woke up to them doing construction or something in the room next door that involved a lot of drilling and hammering. I ended up going down to complain, at which point the staff just blew me off. All in all, it was not somewhere I would stay again.

Let me start by saying that I can generally make the best of any room as long as I can feel somewhat comfortable. However, I could not feel comfortable in this room. The first thing that we noticed when we went into our room was that it looked nothing like the picture on the website. The room was so small that we had a hard time finding a place for our luggage and that was without the couch shown in the picture on the website. The furniture in the room had some of the veneer peeling off and the funiture on the lanai had the paint peeling off. We couldn't determine if the grout in the bathroom was supposed to be that color or if it was just in bad shape. We immediately called the front desk and was told that we were given the room that we paid for but could change to a different room if we wanted to pay an upgrade charge. Of course, they didn't have any rooms available for a couple of days so there wasn't anything that the could do right away. Our choices basically became: live with the room or spend vacation time looking for another hotel. After some debate, we decided to spend as much time away from the room as possible so that we only saw it in the dark. Later in the week our TV started turning itself off and on so we ended up unplugging it just so that we could stay in a calm vacation frame of mind. The one good thing I can say about the room was that the bed was very comfortable. The hotel itself is a short walk to the beach and the mall and has a chain restaurant in the lobby that is good for breakfast. It also has very cramped parking spaces, elevators that are somewhat unreliable, and internet access in the lobby if you're willing to pay. Overall, unless you are a bunch of frat boys that don't care about the condition of your living spaces, I would look elsewhere for a room.
