Yes, this place is a bit remote from Waikiki but it's a nice place that doesn't cost twice as much as surrounding hotels. Parking ANYWHERE in Waikiki is VERY expensive. We spent an average of $*/day. Parking at the Hale Koa diagonally across the street was only $* and the beach was much less crowded than in central Waikiki.

The staff was great and the room was nice and everything worked and we couldn't hear all the outside noises (like at the AQUA Wave). It was easy to get places from here and if we wanted to go to central Waikiki, we drove to the other end near the zoo and aquarium and parked, then walked back a few blocks.

The rooms look rather old; there wasn't much of a wow factor when my wife and I first entered our room. I was also told that the beach is a three minute walk. Maybe if you're a triathlete with no traffic (you have to cross a busy intersection). Expect at least a 10 minute walk to the beach (which isn't an awful walk).

The continental breakfast is a joke - bananas, muffins, and juice. But hey, it's free. Expect to pay at least eighteen dollars per night to park your rental. The pool is TINY (but that's why you go to the beach, I guess).

I would not recommend the room for a romantic getaway. However, my wife and I were taking our one last big trip before we have our first baby, and really didn't use the hotel for much more than a place to keep our stuff and sleep at night. If that's your only concern, I'd recommend staying here as a good value. It's close to restaurants and the activity of downtown Honolulu, but you're not paying an arm and a leg. If you really want a romantic humdinger, go to one of the hotels right on Waikiki.

This is a very clean hotel. The staff is very friendly. Even though there is lots of construction going on around it, it was still worth staying there. The location is good. You can walk to the beach and to lots of good restaurants. We would stay there again. They had us a cab waiting at 4:30 a.m. Check-in and check-out was very quick.

The room was clean and well equipped, but very small. The bathroom likewise was clean but very small. There was not much room to hang anything wet so that it could dry. There was no fan in the bathroom. Our room had no lanai or porch. Parking was listed at $* per day but when we got there it was $* per day. The complimentary breakfast is minimal and does not change from day to day. The orange juice is mediocre. The coffee is from a machine and not that good. The staff is courteous and friendly and tried to respond to any requests quickly. The hotel was less than I had hoped for from a three star hotel.

A Mom and two teenagers will be cramped in these regular rooms converted into a condo style setting. Small dressing hall into bathroom, with microwave and refrig.Full bed and pull out couch. Room faced backside alley. Quiet, absolutely NO view. $124 a nt. , with small Lanai ,2 chairs. Elevator service was slow, pool area small but comfortable and good sun for tanning. 10 minute walk to the alley next to Hilton Hotel takes U, to picnic park and nice beach area. If Military, use of Hale Koa pool and exchange is availabe within 13 minute walk. Kids and I like hometown Hawaiian breakfast at Wannai Cafe on corner of this block. reasonable prices. Hotel Staff were very nice, along with bellhops. Van service to and from airport available, staff made arrangements.
