The hotel is an amalgam of several historic buildings. As a result, you see uneven floors in the hallways and some halls with rooms on only one side. My room, however, was very clean -- but also small. The room held a king-size bed, a desk, a chair and not much more. The breakfast area is also small, and that area is crowded at peak times. The "business center" consists of two computer workstations across from the front desk, but at least the computers were fairly new and attached to laser printers. The wireless Internet in the hotel was fast. The elevators were not. Business travelers may want to stay at a place more upscale, but a business traveler need not be embarrassed staying here and may find the affordable bar and complimentary breakfast a benefit. For the price paid, overall the hotel exceeded expectations.

My trip was last minute, My first time in New Orleans. So I had a little bit of time to figure out what was the best location for the hotel. This was close enough to the Super Dome, it was close enough to the River Walk, to Bourbon Street. It was a good middle ground. If you are looking for a hotel room to go to at the end of your sight seeing, this is the hotel for you. Don't choose this hotel if you are looking for a grand reception area, a great pool, or a great breakfast. Otherwise it worked out well for all that we needed to do, at an affordable price.

This hotel is a few minutes walk from the French Quarter, the Riverwalk & the New Orleans CBD. while not luxurious it is certainly comfortable and clean, there is a small fitness room with bikes & treadmills and they have a free breakfast including low calorie items. If you have a car, valet parking is available.

The hotel was conveniently located to the major NOLA attractions and was fine as a crash pad for a weekend trip. Rooms were fine with average cleanliness. The only major complaint was that our "non-smoking" room clearly was used recently as both smoking and non-smoking, as was apparent by the smell and the ashtray on the table. I would recommend for a reasonably priced hotel in a decent location, but the smoke odor has already led me to look for alternatives for my upcoming visit to NOLA.
