The service, the rooms, the dining, the bed comfort and room amenities are all first rate. The food at the buffet is great and the poker room is top tier as well. If you enjoy Las Vegas, the Wynn is the best of the bunch, in my opinion. However, if you are not familiar with Las Vegas, be advised that much of the much-ballyhooed luxury is based on thin veneers of plastic adorning the walls and ceilings of the public places, designed to look impressive in photos, but which do not withstand casual scrutiny, and which frankly depress the effect they are intended to convey. And some cost-cutting measures are obvious - 7' ceilings in the room hallways, cheap and broken plastic fake-ivory balls on the buffet line channelizers, the fact that the exterior dining area overlooking the golf course was closed on a beautiful 75 degree and sunny day in late Februrary - and these detract from what the Wynn promises. But look - at the online rates, you are getting rooms for not that much more than some Howard Johnson-type hotel, and at this price, the Wynn is a great deal. However, under no circumstances should you be dumping money on the Danny Gans show. The best moment at this decidely unfunny ""comedy"" show with an ""Up with People"" vibe, was when a woman a few rows in front of us literally climbed over the back of chair to get away about three-fourths of the way into this show. The look of frenzied panic on her face was priceless!!

My husband and I celebrated our 36 wedding anniversary at the Wynn 2/6-2/8- We asked 2 other couples to join us. It was fantastic from check-in to check-out. We were upgraded to the 55th floor and had a view of the strip.(Oh My Goodness!!) The wall to wall, ceiling to floor window was breath taking. My husband really enjoyed the flat screen HD TV attached to the wall and turned towards the bed (where we spent a lot of our time). The decor is fabulous. The restaurants/clubs were all 1st class- We're from Arizona so the plane ride was short. We will return soon, real soon! I won't stay any where else. Hmmm- Maybe next door at the Encore. It will only be The Wynn or Encore for me from now on-

Beautiful rooms that are bright and airy (in contrast to the dark rooms at Bellagio), large, luxurious bathroom, huge floor to ceiling windows (I overlooked the Strip at no extra money in contrast to Bellagio where facing the Strip costs extra). Staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. They are obviously well trained. Lobby and Casino areas and restaurants are gorgeous with extreme attention to detail in the decorations chosen. Only negatives -there is no turndown service, a must for a hotel that considers itself five star; and noise from planes taking off from the nearby airport. Luckily the plane traffic seems to stop around midnight so my sleep was undisturbed. Daniel Boulud serves outstanding meal. I have eaten there 4 times and never had a bad meal.
