I just returned from my 4th stay at Blue Bay Getaway Cancun. They are in the middle of a huge renovation for their new resort called Temptation something. I was disappointed that most of their ammenities were shut down for all of this. They are very focused on the new name, so I felt they now is not the best time to stay there. until Dec 21, 2007. The same great staff members have been there the past 7 yrs I have, and they are tons of fun. The beach was a little more wrecked this time with logs, seaweed, and rocks. I would have like to of seen them pay a little more time to cleaning that stuff up. For the money, it is the best place to stay in Cancun, and have the most fun. I had little or no problems this trip. TAKE A TAXI FROM AND TO THE AIRPORT ON YOUR OWN. IT SHOULD COST $25 US, YOU WILL GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR HOTEL, AND NOT SHARE. BLUEBAY IS tHE LAST STOP IN A VAN SHUTTLE.

My husband and I went here not knowing exactly what to expect. We loved it and are ready to book again. If you have a problem with seeing perverted games, or swingers hanging around the pool and bar than this is NOT the place for you. If you can handle these things and like a good time I highly suggest you book.
The bars at the hotel are fun at night. A lot of people stay in and drink as compared to other hotels in Cancun where everyone leaves to go to the night clubs in the city. It's nice because it cost $45.00 to go out but, with this place you don't have to leave. Actually, the hotel was so much fun my husband and I never left. We will next time but, at least the value is good.
The buffets were good. The Asian restaurant was superb. You need to get in line very early to get a good reservation time at the restaurants.
We got massages and we both strongly suggest you do it as late in the day as possible.
We brought $100.00 in ones and it was more than enough for 6 days of tipping. Tipping is included but, if you put down a few dollars the bartenders are a lot faster for the rest of the night. A lot of times you don't have to ask for another. They just bring it for you.
There was a wide range of ages. We were hanging out with people from 21 to 80.
If you want 4 stars pick another place. But, if you want to have an amazingly fun, drunk time go here. -

great hotel if you don't have very high standards. Provides all the basics and lots of drinking games and alcohol - would recommend for a group of friends but not really for couples looking for a romantic getaway. there was a lot of construction while we were there- starting at 7.30am. Funny smell from the air conditioning throughout the hotel! Food was unpredictable - either pretty good or really horrible!! at the end of the hotel strip but not far on the bus into centre - you get what you pay for!!!!

I am 22 years old. I went to this resort with my dad. Which was kind of uncomfortable. We tried to stay away from the resort during the day because all the activities involve removing clothing. The only activity at the resort i could take part in was beach volleyball. I loved my time there and would have had a great time. I recommend this resort if you are going to go with a open minded group of people. DO NOT GO WITH YOUR PARENTS!!... I am currently planning on going back with some girl friends.

I have very mixed fellings about my stay with BBG. The "sexy" pool was wonderful. In addition to having several jacuzzis built into the pool, it has a raised sundeck so you can tan while laying in about 3 inches of water. it also has a swim up bar, with a raised section on dry land which has stools and swings around it. All in all a very nice pool/bar area. The entertainment at this pool was lively and entertaining and the people were as friendly as can be.
On the downside, the buffet food was average at best. Two of the three sit down restaurants were closed. The one that was operational required reservations be made early in the morning and flip flop sandals weren't allowed - a fact of which I was not aware. The bar at the sexy pool closed at 6 pm - which was long before the crowd thinned. The main bar closed at midnight - again long before the crowd was ready to turn in. Since the local bars were open several hours later it sent the clear message that they were trying to save $ because it was all-inclusive. They should stay open later and charge more if that's what is necessary to make it financially wise for them.
We got a "come get free massages" notice on the door, which turned out to be a sales pitch to buy a timeshare. They should be honest about wanting to pitch the time share idea. Those interested would attend, and those not interested wouldn't be offended by having their vacation time wasted.
