My boyfriend and Iwanted to sleep in the park and chose Curry for it's inexpensive pricetag. We were a little nervous because of the mixed reviews, but were pleased with the experience. We chose a heated tent, which was really worth the extra money. The tent had a double bed and two extra twins, a safe for valuables, bookcase and lockbox outside for food items. No lock was needed. The onsite bar/pizza/restaurant was sufficient for a night or two. We loved sleeping in the park and starting our day minutes from epic trails. Bathrooms were OK, nothing great, but sufficient for a day or two.

for an early hiking start or sheer convenience, it is ideal, clean (as are loos and showers), sheets and pillows and some blankets and an electric light and safe (!) and bear locker, and right close to the village pool, restaurants, bus and trails: but its just a tent: and being in a camp site, it has the noise issues - you can hear everything and so can they - and hot in the day (and freezing in winter). Considering the alternatives and prices outside the park that is a long drive, and that you can fit extra people in for 12.50 each, AND had availability unlike the campsites, it was not a bad choice at all. But it was another world to stay at the Wowona.

We really liked staying at Curry Village. It was as advertised with 2 beds in a canvas tent and shared bathrooms and showers. The tents are very close together, so you will hear your neighbors. Lights out at 10pm, so we slept just fine. We loved the pool and rental bikes. All the food was good except the buffet. The beginner horse ride was a little scary, and Mirror lake is not a lake. It is a meadow. The scenery is spectacular. The only thing that was just ok, were the showers. They were small and there was always a line at all three locations in the campground. The WiFi lounge was a lifesaver, because the tents do not have outlets for charging phones and camera batteries. It was fun and very convenient for all our activities.
