This hotel was a very pleasant to stay at, the staff was very welcoming to me and my family and they stayed on top of keeping everything very clean. The rooms were very big and we specially loved all the pools that they have. They were always clean and well maintained. The next time my family and I take a trip we will definitely be staying at sea crest.

The very first thing i seen when checking in was a front desk representitive handing a key to the man next to me and advising him that she didnt know for sure if the room was ready or not, but he could take the key, and if it wasnt clean he could come back and tell her. That was promising. Let me first say that before i booked this hotel, i read a lot of reviews on it, and i did see many reviews describing that the rooms were dirty. My family takes two vacations a year, so when it comes to room cleanliness, we have an "open mind" ...meaning we understand that its not going to be perfect, and that is okay with us. But there is no way around it... our room at Seacrest was dirty. Not kind of dirty, but very dirty. Like, mildew on my celing, grease on my stove (that i easily wiped off, showing that no one ever even attempted to clean it), and..... roaches. Although we only seen one live roach, we cleaded up 6 dead ones over our 4-night stay. our room was never serviced... they never brought us clean towels with out being called to do so. We had to call and ask the front desk where we should take our trash out and where to get trach bags from... instead of taking the hint and sending houskeeping, they educated us on where the dumpster was. i finallly had to go to the front desk to tell them about the roaches after cleaning up the 6th one. So basically, to pacify me, the supervisor offered me 20% off my stay, and advised pest control would be sent to my room, both of which never happened. i had to call back and remind them of my discount... wich seemed to really annoy the supervisor i spoke with. I took pictures of the grease, the mildew on my celing, the dead roaches. I will be posting them. Anyway, the moral of my story is that I was very disappointed in this resort. I so wanted the reviews to be wrong. The pools were awesome... the kids loved them... but the room and service were a huge disappointment... more than that, unacceptable. There are other resorts in Myrtle Beach that offer nice swimming pools. DOnt let the bright colorful pictures online distract you. Shop around.

Economical for a Family Vacation

This hotel was a great place for a family of four on a budget primarily because everything else was pay as you go (food, activities, transportation, beach equipment rentals, etc). My biggest concern was that the name of this place says "resort". Well it wasn't a resort at all. Sure they had several indoor pools, a tiki bar, and hot tubs, but that doesn't make it a resort. It was just a nice hotel. Toward the end of our stay, I was a little annoyed that housekeeping didn't clean the room. The first couple of days, I didn't really care beacuse it was all about hitting sand, and having some fun. But it got a little old when day after day we came back to your room and nothing had been cleaned. They just made the beds, gave us new towels, and replenished the soap. It would have been nice to have the bathroom and kitchen area freshened up especially since we spent most of our time in the chlorine-rich pools and in the sand. On our next trip there, I'll take my cleaning supplies with me just in case. On a more positive note, we loved having a kitchen in our room as it eased some of the burden of our food expenses. Above all, you couldn't beat the view of the ocean. I will go back again just to wake up seeing that sun rise over the Atlantic!
