Date of stay: 4/23-4/25 I'm not a big traveler, but I thought this place was all right. As other reviewers have noted, the place is a bit run down at the heels, but it's not shabby. The regular rooms are modest, with outdated 19-in. TVs that look like crap compared to modern LCDs and Plasmas, but if you're in Vegas, are you really that interested in staying in? The dual showerheads are a decadent luxury, and I suggest you indulge in a combo spray and massage shower. The bed was comfortable, and there were no bed bugs. I do recommend, however, staying in one of the upper floors. Even the distance to the fourth floor was not enough to drown out the loud music playing in the casino and at the pool. Kudos to the service staffs. At 10:00 PM my first night, I discovered that the pillows and featherbed were made of down, to which I'm allergic. By 10:15, housekeeping was replacing the down items with foam. Wait staff in the hotel restaurant was very attentive. Front desk staff were very cordial. The restaurant itself, however, was overpriced ($* for a breakfast buffet, $* for a nothing-special steak with 2 glasses of wine), and I wished I'd gone out to Jack-in-the-box for breakfast. In fact, I should have bought the 7-hotel buffet special each day, given the amount we spent on food.

If you're actually planning on sleeping during your stay in Vegas, forget about this hotel. The walls are paper thin between the rooms, and the 3/4 inch gap under the doors connecting the rooms means that the party next door is your party, too, whether you like it or not. In my case, the continuous giggling, cackling, and vomiting next door was not the recipe for a good night's sleep for me. Also, the chain smoking next door (in a supposedly non-smoking hotel, the lobby of which also smells like cigar smoke) meant that I "woke up" (not sure I ever actually fell asleep) in a cloud of second hand smoke. Usually Westin Hotels are very nice in my experience. This one is not, and I would never stay here again.

My wife and I prefer Westin when we travel...this should not be classified as a Westin...its comparable to an early 1980's Holiday Inn...carpet frayed, tube T.V.'s, adhesive strips in the shower floor...dirty as well...too close to the road...sirens blasting all night long...still use the heavenly beds but useless..too loud of a hotel to sleep....walls paper thin...restaurant closes early...;in Vegas?;...located of the strip...very questionable area in terms of safety at night...

Great, super comfortable beds, first class hotel just off the strip. This is a great option for those looking to avoid rates associated with hotels on the strip. The Westin is located about 2 blocks east of Bally's on Flamingo. If you are ok with an additional walk to the strip, this is a great option. The hotel has a modest casino and of course, as a regular traveler i have to say there isn't another hotel with a more comfortable bed than the Westin.
