My wife and I were there for one night this last Saturday 2/2/12. last minute decision to find a baby sitter and celebrate our anniversary. We were surprised to be awakened from a nap to a nice amenity delivery. Your team made our night. Thanks to everyone, the hotel renovations look great. We will stay-cation here again. At the moment, the hotel is going through pretty extensive renovations, which really took away from the experience. Restaurant was closed, lobby was moved, had to go through the service hallway to get to the elevators. I called the hotel prior to booking and they were really not honest about how bad it really was. I probably wouldn't have booked if I had known. They said "everything was almost done and just the lobby is moved", but the hotel was literally torn apart. That being said, I am sure when it is done, the hotel will be beautiful and would be worth booking.

My expierience at this W hotel is quite mixed. The hotel itself is pretty decent the typical W expierience. My gripes with this hotel were: - The parking... The valet service was $35 a day. This was quite steep and there really are not any other options available. - The room itself was pretty nice, however the shower in the bathroom does not have sufficient protection from water to stay in the shower area so when you are finished taking a shower the bathroom floor is practically flooded. The things I enjoyed about my expierience at the W San Diego were: - The lounge bar in the lobby was pleasant, the staff were super friendly and it is a nice atmosphere to hang out. - The Acura car shuttle was a great amenity of the hotel. This service is an Acura vehicle which will drop you off pretty much anywhere downtown free of charge. Be sure to make your reservation early though. All in all pretty good expierience at this hotel, although I am not sure if I would stay here again if I were to stay in San Diego since there are many other hotels which have the same am mentors and expieriences to offer.

expensive for the accomodations, renoovations going on in lobby, so may add to charm of the place, but for now i would not recommend it. great locale, short walk to gaslamp area and little italy and amtrak station, a definite plus for us, however the value of the room was clearly much much less than the price we paid.
