The Plaza was in a gret place to go to Freemont Street but, our first night there both beds were horrible to say the least sleeping on the floor would be more comfortable!!! The sink was clogged and there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom! Stay away from room *! A nice hotel front desk person gave us a new room on our second day which was much better. By the way their cleaning staff doesn't know what "don't disturb means' they think it means knock to ask if you want your room cleaned. they are renovating in 2011 and I would like to see what the difference would be (because they diff need to pics on internet are misleading to say the least!)

Remember that Freemont street is the "old school" part of Vegas and embrace it. If you do that and keep room and hotel expectations to a minimum you will love your experience. The plaza is at the beginning of Freemont street and has nice views to go with. The room was clean and met my expectations. My previous visit to the casino to see the band at the Aqua lounge made me book this stay. They are great! Cant wait for the remodel coming up next year and look forward to booking another stay with the Plaza.

I have to say, after seeing some of these reviews I was a little iffy about making a reservation with the Plaza. But, I am very glad I stayed with my choice. Yes, I agree the bathroom was a little small, but the room was nice, clean, the air conditioning worked a little too well and housekeeping was very adamant about cleaning the rooms, lol. It was just me and my buddy and we were constantly awoken to the sounds of "housekeeping...want your room cleaned...you sure...no...you sure...we'll come back later, ok.." They took their job seriously. We initially were going with one of the floor rooms but decided to upgrade to one of the tower rooms, good choice. Plus, even for those who have been to Vegas on a few occasions, I loved being right across from Freemont st. We could easily go enjoy the Freemont experience and simply walk back to the hotel, there are definitely many things to do on the street, great if you just want to get out of the hotel and everything else is within driving distance or bus, we drove. The staff was more than friendly. Upon check-in, the front desk associate even made sure that the room was clean. I was more than satisfied with our stay and when I do come back, it will definitely be with the Plaza again and will certainly recommend it to my friends due to its cost and its service. LOVED IT!!!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and recommend it to anyone! The rooms were old, but clean and huge...and most important...quiet! The staff was friendly, and seemed glad to see the visitors. You were about 10 steps from the Fremont canopy...and you could actually see the designs from some slot machines inside the hotel! There was different food outlets even a McD's in the hotel...as well as a nice upscale restaurant, Firefly with great views and a food. The buffet was small, but good food. If you are looking for all the "new ammentities" of the newer hotels...they aren't there. I did stay at a newer hotel on the second leg of my trip...only difference was it cost more and had an alarm clock in it. For those who like to relax and watch TV, the Plaza had great channels all the channels you enjoy at home, unlike the other hotel , which had about 5. The only thing that a family might have a problem with is that the bathroom is a little small if you have little ones that need supervision...other than that I not only highly recommend this hotel, but I plan to stay there my next trip!
