Overall, my stay was not a bad experience, but I raised an eyebrow over a few things. The front desk people were not really on the ball, which actually meant that I was given a king bed room when I'd only paid for a queen (this was unintentional - I only asked for a high floor, which was kindly accommodated). Also, when I checked out, they forgot to charge me for parking (which was one of my negatives - no place on the website did it say that parking is $* a day). However, NO ONE at the front desk knew even the basics of how I should connect to the wireless internet (e.g., which network I should sign on to), and both times that I called down to ask a question, they said "oh, I'll send someone up from maintenance." BOTH times I said please don't, just have them phone me, and BOTH times someone came knocking at the door. Since I was there for a romantic weekend, this was not really appreciated. On the plus side, the bed was HEAVENLY comfortable. Negative again - no towel rack in the bathroom. What?!?! Also, they were a bit skimpy on the toiletries. Bar soap, shampoo, and lotion. No conditioner. Weird. Bathroom door was hung a bit too low, so that it didn't clear the bath rug when opened and closed. I have to say, none of these things individually would be deal breakers for me, but it was just a lot of strange little things that overall mean that I'd look around for other options before staying here again. I got a good deal on the room online, the suite was much bigger than a normal hotel room, and the location is great. But overall... meh.
Definately NOT a good hotel01/08/2010

When checking in, they of course gave away the room we had prepaid for and we got stuck with a smaller room. They said they "may" be able to change us the next day however there was no guarantee and we would have to go to the desk about noon or so. Now, we are going to a trade show so we won't be able to do that. We go to the very tight garage (which is an extra $* dollars per day) and then they don't even bother to mark where the elevator is so you have to wander down until you find it. After arriving in the room, it's pretty dingy, very dirty carpet and they didn't even bother to clean out the refridgerator so it had old food in it. The phone was greasy and smelly which I found out after calling for extra pillows. So I would have to say that so far this is a pretty bad experience.

I chose the Regency Suites Midtown based on reviews on this site and was not disappointed. The best thing was the location as the train station is literally next to it and it was an easy ride from the airport. If you are staying for a few days you might just purchase a multi-day pass at the airport train station as you can get anywhere in Atlanta on this system. The hotel was clean, pleasant and the staff some of the friendliest, nicest people I have encountered in my many travels. From suggestions for restaurants, to solving an internet connection problem, it seemed they couldn't do enough for us.
