Well, considering the money paid for the room, it was a good deal. But I had to make sure to get up extra early to take a shower before most people got up, because it seemed that the hot water was based on a 1st come 1st served. Cleanliness was ok, it is an older hotel so some things are understandable. But I think bathroom could have been a little cleaner in my opinion

The Hotel Lawrence is a good budget option, but be sure to tack on $* a day for valet parking as it is really your only option in the area - all of the street parking is metered. The rooms are partially updated (bathrooms & bedding) with old TV's and scuffed but clean desks. The free WiFi was practically useless, needing to re-authenticate literally every 30 seconds. Staff were friendly but a little disorganized, almost every time I requested my vehicle from valet I would come downstairs to find that it hadn't arrived & the valet guy nowhere in sight. Half the time the receptionist would have to go get it for me. Complimentary breakfast was unimpressive & lacked appropriate vegetarian options. The neighborhood was a little sparse, the hotel is close to a bunch of government buildings so most things catered to a lunch crowd. Nightlife was not within walking distance but the hotel does offer a complimentary shuttle. Good for the price/you get what you pay for.

I chose this hotel because it was close to the convention center and had the free shuttle. Loved the cookies and milk at night. The breakfast was okay but when they ran out of things, it took a while for the employee to bring replacements. The room was a lot smaller than it looked like in the pictures. Okay for one person but was a little difficult for two of us to get ready at the same time. Just a little complaint about housekeeping not replacing the bar of soap, or bringing clean glasses or replacing the bottles of water. The walls are kinda thin and the door could have used more soundproofing to the hallway. It was a different experience and maybe the fact that two days earlier I had been in a huge hotel room in Vegas made this one seem even smaller.

This is an old hotel with character. We like to ride the train (Amtrak) into Dallas and it is across the street from the Train & Dart Station. You can go just about anywhere you would like via Dart or Taxi and have a great weekend. The service was great. The bar/restaurant has pricie drinks but they take care of you. They have a shuttle van to run you anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel also. Good bed, small bathroom that uses every bit of space to be useful. Will stay again because it works for us, when we want a big city getaway for a reasonable price.
