The hotel was a little outdated. The pictures on their website do not reflect the true appearance of the rooms. According to the locals, the hotel is haunted, that did add a little excitement to our stay. The breakfast served was very good and the cookies and milk added a nice touch.

  • Old and dated

Very strange shower that wasted time to get used to, the elevators are outdated but the bed and room is nice. they even give 2 free bottles of water.

Hotel Lawrence is such an easy place to just be comfortable and be yourself. It's close to historic sites. It has a free shuttle service that will drop you off an pick you up, so you don't have to rent a car (or worry about drinking & driving). It's within walking distance of the Amtrak train station, local & regional rail service, and buses -- you can get everywhere from here! The hotel is not super fancy. Although it's sometimes called a "luxury" hotel, it's probably best to think of that as "luxury for the 1920s," which is when the hotel was built. We found the place to be quite comfortable and really enjoyed our stay. The free breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, and the fresh baked cookies & milk in the lobby at bedtime is a sweet gesture. My only criticism is that the cookies are cooked a bit too long for my taste -- I think most people like a *soft* warm chocolate chip cookie, not a hard one. ;)

It was clean enough, everything but the bath looked old. Quiet, which I was worried about. You have to pay for parking, so factor that into the cost of the hotel room. Which was tiny, btw. When I checked in the clerk informed me there was a $25 per diem, which would be deducted for the use of necessities, or something, that would be rebated to the debit card if not used. I heard nothing about that before I checked in, it was a first anywhere I have stayed (maybe 4 different motels). There is very little near the hotel. I'll give it an "OK" vote because it wasn't bad, just not worth the money. Days Inn has been an equal breakfast with more room, at a lower cost.
