Good value hotel with deep wood tones and charm intact. 1 1/2 block walking distance to North end of Miracle Mile and subway within 5 blocks. Quite for downtown hotel even on the night the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup. Staff a little low energy but pleasant.

First of all this hotel is in a fantastic location, in the heart of where everyone wants to be in Chicago. There are an amazing number of bars, restaurants and nightclubs in the area, not to mention the SHOPPING! I LOVE Ditka's restaurant which is attached-they have amazing food. The hotel staff are super nice and accommodating and the lobby is so cute, inviting and warm! The rooms are phenomenal and the beds are just amazingly comfortable. It's unfair for the hotel to have beds that you JUST don't want to get out of in such a bustling city with so much to do!! Every time I've stayed, my room is decorated in a cute, different way--it's so much better than going to a hotel and seeing the same decor on every wall, every time. I can't wait to come back!

The hotel room was very spacious for an older downtown hotel. The bathroom was very roomy, great soaps, shampoos, and lotion, very nice bed, linens, etc. The location was outstanding, right in the heart of the Michigan Ave. shopping district, and a short walk to the river and Navy Pier. The front desk staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Will definitely stay at this hotel my next time in Chicago. Only minor complaint, it would have been nice to a have a coffee maker in the room.
A room like no other.05/05/2010

My boyfriend and I celebrated our birthdays downtown and chose the Tremont because of location. What we didn't know was how wonderful the staff was and how accommodating they were when he surprised me by upgrading us to the Penthouse. What an awesome surprise. Three beautiful rooms with a view. When we found we had extra show tickets they helped us find another couple that took them off our hands. We would definately stay here again, and again, and again.

When walking into this hotel it is very dark, with an antique look. The help desk was great. They put us right into the room. What we did not like the days we went they did not have maid service. So, we had to call the front desk for new towels everyday. When we got to the room, which was very small, it looked like it was back from the old days. Don't get me wrong. The hotel was extremely clean, the heat worked well, TV was fine, it is nothing fancy though. For a cheap stay in a clean safe hotel, this is the place for you. It is in the best location too! A few blocks from train, buses, shopping, and good food. Next time I come to Chicago, I would stay here again. It did not break the bank. I was able to spend more money on food and shows.
