My wife and I are frequent travelers in our early 30's . We look for location first, 4-4/12 star quality resorts, and value. This hotel fit our needs perfectly. We visited several of the other contenders (Hilton, Intercontinental, La Concha) and we're glad we made this choice. The location places you within walking distance to fun nightlife. It's right on the busline which provides service to Old San Juan (you cannot walk) and many cultural sites. We rented a car for just a few days, parking is expensive, and saw everything on our list. (If you rent from enterprise online you can look up a coupon code for a discount. Then tell them where you stay when you get there for an additional discount) The hotel quality is definitely 4+ star. The food is tasty, but overpriced when fine dining is a stones throw away. Go to a gas station and stock up on local beer for your fridge. Clean spacious, sexy rooms with fabulous views. I booked the lagoon view and asked the front desk for a free upgrade. We got a wonderful ocean view room. Casino was fun and looking at the dancers in the club was a good time. Finally value. If you compare some of the other top resorts I think you'll see this is the best choice. Its a clear win due to proximity to everything wonderful, onsite entertainment, and smart consierge service.

We didn't have any issues. The food was overpriced at all the restaurants for no better than it was. This seems to be common in Puerto Rico hotels. We overpaid for what we should get. I doubt I will stay there again. The room itself was nice. A different atmosphere than most hotel. Sort of a modern/miami flare to it. You could tell it was a older building that had some renovations done to it.

The hotel itself is very very nice. It's close to downtown and near the clubs. Across the street is a starbucks. Everything within the hotel is very pricey but it's an upscale hotel. I would recommend this hotel if you want to lounge like a rockstar but if your on a budget, i think you'll have to look somewhere else.

I was not sure what to expect from my first trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico in over 30 years. I was looking for both the exhilaration of city night life and the well needed relaxation of a tropical retreat. I got both from Condado Plaza Hotel. Nice beach, several pools, warm weather, friendly hosts, lots of good food, & plenty of drinks. What more can you ask for? How about asking for Old San Juan? A short cab ride away, plenty of clubs to dance the night away. Suggestions: if you are going to visit the sights (world's largest radio telescope, Caves, Underwater wrecks), you will save money & grief if you rent a car (available right outside hotel lobby). It's not expensive.
