I stayed here for a week, right by myself. I was not afraid at all. I went there for my birthday. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the pool, beach and the tiki bar. I recieved a package from home for my birthday and they went out of there way it seemed to make sure that I got it. I probily will go again next year.

This was the worst experience ever and I have lived in florida for over 40 years and have been to the beach ALOT. The young man at the desk was very polite and appologetic but the lady coming on at 3 was rude, and did not care that we had been told ALL DAY LONG that the room will be ready soon, come back in an hour, not ready, come back in another hour, still not ready, come back in half hour (1 1/2 hours later) STILL not ready and will have to put us in another room that is less than what we asked for in the beginning. I do understand check in isn't until 3 pm but we had been told ALL DAY LONG to return and with the end result of still not being able to check in unless we took a room below our expectations. The young man wanted to upgrade us for our inconvenience but the lady ' I CAN'T DO THAT"!!!!! refused. Then after all that we ended up loosing $20 towards this experience for HIDDEN FEES! So NO we will not be recommending your hotel!!!!!!!!!!

Our stay here was fun, comfortable (for the most part) and better than expected. Here are the pros and cons: Pros - All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Check-in was easy, even with a small line at the front desk. Food and Drinks at the Tiki Bar were fabulous, and we appreciated the enforcement of the "guests only" rules in the pool area. The location can't be beat - Just a short walk to the boardwalk area and Ocean Walk Village/Daytona Lagoon, and if you don't want to walk, it is a 2 minute drive to the parking garage. The fireworks view is fantastic on the pool deck, or down on the beach, and the DJ played patriotic songs during the shoot - very nice. In our particular unit, the beds were comfy, and there was no shortage of pillows. Nice flat screen TV. The small kitchenette was handy. Being individual units, we didn't expect daily housekeeping, so we were pleasantly surprised to find our room had been cleaned upon a return trip to the beach.Continental breakfast was meh...some dry cereal, fruit, and individually wrapped pastries (think snack food machine quality), milk and juice, but for a light breakfast, again it was fine. While there was a person checking you in, they didn't seem to mind how much you ate, only to ensure you were a guest. The pool was nice, but the hot tub wasn't working during our stay. Cons - There was a lot of noise. I am not picky, nor am I a light sleeper, and it was enough for me to become irritated. The A/C was really noisy, to the extent that you couldn't hear the tv when it came on. The sound buffer in the room from the interior hallways was nearly non-existent, and there were people that were yelling and partyingin the hallways (oddly enough, with a small child that was also yelling with delight). This wouldn't bother me, but it started at about 1am and didn't end until about 3am. Our room was on the 2nd floor, close to the road. This meant while we indeed had an ocean view, it was by view of the parking lot. The balcony obviously gets overlooked in the cleaning process. If you want to sit out there, I suggest sitting on a towel. There was water damage on the wall in the bathroom that went well beyond a bubble in the paint. There was no clothes line in the bathroom, so wet bathing suits had to hang on the shower curtain rod. This probably led to the water damage on the wall. The decor in the room was a little dated, but not uncomfortable. Parking became a nightmare at night - not enough spaces. This is NOT a 5 star resort. It is an older typical beach resort. If you want somewhere inexpensive, close to the action and right on the beach, but don't mind a little noise, this is a decent place. If you are looking for the Ritz, I would go somewhere else.
