This is a beautiful-looking hotel in a convenient location in the French Quarter. The architecture and the history of the place is quite impressive. It's away from the noise and craziness of Bourbon St., but close enough to it, as well, if you like that aspect of New Orleans. The Carousel Bar is a must-visit, if only for the history of the place. Our room was kind of small and the bed was too soft. Also, no free Internet access. Someone did tell us that we could try to get free wifi from the hotel next door if we went up to the rooftop. Overall, it's a very nice hotel, and we would consider staying there, again.

We stayed at this hotel on the recommendation of a friend and have now recommended it to several other friends. The decor of the hotel takes you back to another time, yet everything is clean and fresh. The personnel was extremely professional and friendly. The rooms were beautifully furnished and very clean. Most of the sights we wanted to visit were withing walking distance, so the hotel location was also very convenient. We loved the city and the people there, so we will definitely return--and we will definitely stay at the Monteleone. Wonderful! Just thinking about our trip and our stay makes me very happy :)

The Monteleone is a beautiful old hotel. We felt welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay. However, as with anything aged, there were some issues. The plumbing to the toilet was a consistent problem. We had to have it plunged three times. Nothing like having to wait up for service when it is late into the night. However, the bar was hopping, the staff was great, and the room was beautiful. We will stay here again without hesitation.
