This is a classic old hotel in the middle of the French Quarter, but thankfully one block off the craziness of Bourbon Street. As typical for older hotels, the rooms are on the small side, and the elevators are small and slow (and there aren't enough of them.) But all of those are relatively minor issues, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here on future visits to NOLA.

This is the 2nd time at the Monteleone. It's so central, beautiful and historic. The two concierges were extremely helpful. Can't wait to stay there again!!! Except for the room mix up everything was stellar. We booked 1 king, 1 double and got 2 kings which they did change after a bit of instistence that it was not my problem of why the room was incorrect. The views were so-so... No free internet.

This is a terrific hotel right on the edge of the French Quarter. Even though Bourbon is only a block away, and our room faced in that direction, noise was never an issue. The staff was unfailingly polite and helpful, the free continental breakfast was far above par, the drinks served in the lobby (while the Carousel Bar is closed for renovation) were absolutely killer. We will definitely be staying here again.

We wanted to stay in the French Quarter in a Hotel with History, not a Holiday Inn. When you step into the Lobby it's like you step back into the splendor of old when it was a privelage to stay at a Hotel. The lobby wa spectacular, the service above and beyond what you receive anywhere, they were always willing to help, whether reccomendation for a Resteraunt or directions to Cafe DuMond! I have been to New Orleans at least 30 times in the past 5 years and will never go without staying at The Hotel Monteleone. You can tell it is run right from top to bottom! Kudos to everyone, can't wait to return. Also thought we saw a Ghost, a big plus and what an add to the Allure of New orleans!
